Just like with other pets, such as dogs, birds, ferrets and guinea pigs, keeping your rabbit’s nails trimmed is important for their overall foot health.

You can use both. A thin layer of iodine ointment will serve to help prevent infection. The Woun’ dres can be applied over it. If Caesar is likely to lick it, I recommend an e-collar. He may chew and eat a bandage if he isn’t wearing an e-collar. Bandages are also tricky because they can trap moisture and can tighten, cutting off circulation to the paw. I would continue applying both three times a day until the nail bed appears completely dry and scabbed over. You can place a toddler sock or a bootie over the paw when you take Caesar outside to pee and poop but I would avoid long walks for the next week. Good luck!

Crazy glue/Super glue will work. Trim your cat's claws, poke the end of the glue tip into the nail cap, then push it onto your cat's claw as far as it will comfortably go. You may end up glued to a nail cap, your cat's fur or yourself, but that's not unusual, for me at least. ;-) Good luck!

Unfortunately this takes time and patience. I would play with her feet on a regular basis and constantly touch her in these areas to desensitize her. You can always try a calming supplement such as NaturVet Quiet Moments Calm Chews with Melatonin to see if this helps for the nail trims. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.

Hi there. You could try putting a sock or dog boot on her foot to try to protect it. Rinsing a few times a day to keep it clean is important too. If it keeps bleeding, or starts to have any discharge or odor to the site then she should be evaluated by a veterinarian. Best of luck and I hope she heals soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.

It looks like Dante broke his nail. I recommend getting a bootie to protect it and keeping it clean. Ideally Dante would have antibiotics and pain medication to help him which would come from a veterinarian. I would also recommend an elizabethan collar so Dante does not lick at that paw. If he does he can create an infection. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.
