Play VideoEach class is 60-minutes. The group dog training class you enroll in will occur at the same time every week for 6 consecutive weeks (week may be skipped if class falls on major holiday) and last for 60-minutes.
Our group classes will have four dogs max as we follow our safety policy to always keep a minimum of three feet in between dogs at all times!
You will get six classes in total. Your trainer will work with you to figure out a makeup class for you and your dog.
We want to set you and your dog up to be successful! If you have already had some type of formal training with your (older than six months) dog, you may be ready for our Advanced class. Our Puppy training classes are based on the age of your puppy.
It depends on the dog training class selected. We offer a $39 Private Lesson 101 if you’re new to Petco Dog Training to help recommend the best training classes based on your dog’s current needs. Our group and private dog training class options costs vary based on length of course.
To participate in training classes we require to see up-to-date documentation of age-appropriate vaccinations including:
Parvovirus, hepatitis, and distemper vaccinations for all dogs and puppies.
Rabies vaccination for dogs aged 16 weeks or older (if a medical reason prohibits your pet from receiving this vaccination, please consult your trainer ahead of visit).
New York City administrative code also requires to show proof of vaccinations for para-influenza, parvovirus within the past three years and for Bordetella within the past six months.
Are their vaccinations expired? Visit Petco Veterinary Services to find a convenient Petco walk-in vaccination clinic.
It depends on the class level. Puppies can take their first class starting at 8-16 weeks, while more mature dogs can start at 6 months.
Refunds may be issued until the start of the second class.
A current copy of your dog's vaccination records, a 6 foot nylon or leather leash, a collar or harness, training treats and a treat pouch, and cleanup bags.
We schedule around major holidays and will add an additional week to ensure you get your six classes in the amount of weeks needed to complete them!
Our online dog training classes have been designed and curated by our Petco Certified dog trainers to meet the needs of pets and pet parents that enjoy the convenience of dog training at home. While it’s not the same curriculum that we use in our in-store classes, it does address the important needs of pets in new ways so that we can teach pet parents how to be effective at guiding their pets through training.
We are using Zoom to host all of our online dog training classes.
In our 4-session group classes, yes, other participants will be able to see you during the class, and you'll learn together!
You'll receive your trainer's information in your confirmation email. Reach out to them to discuss what to do if you miss your class.
The Petco Certified dog trainers you'll be working with through our online dog training offering are Senior dog trainers and are highly experienced. Read their bios above to find out more information on each trainer and find the trainer in your time zone.

What would be the best tactics to train all 8 of my puppies who are 7 weeks old?
What's the easiest potty training method with a 6 week old chihuahua
When is the earliest I can start training my pup?
I think my puppy has confidence issues - he has had lots of other dog socialising from 3 months old possibly not much human socialising - I live in a very rural area - he has just started pooping and peeing indoors this last week and today when out walking a young child tried to pet him and he became quite anxious - hiding behind me but not aggressive although he has been aggressive towards other dogs whilst on his lead - am not sure what kind of training to do ? Thank you
I have A puppy that’s about 5 months and has an aggression problem sometimes but it’s getting to the point where her growls are getting shortened and it’s faster snapping like she wants to bite. I dont Want to give her away so is there any tips I can get to train her at home . By the way she is a Presa Canario
I am training my GSD 5 months old, when I used to train him from 1 month but not regularly.he listen to me only when I give him treat but not randomly at any time..He remain in fun mood all the time not seriouslt or maturily...How to train him as full obedience dog and give me some links of training like leash training, handshake etc.
My "pug tsu" is a puppy mill rescue who is very scared and only just started eating today. She still tries to hide. She has perked up and seemed excited to see me when I came home from school. Either way, at a year old, she is very behind in doggy social skills and skills in general. She doesn't know how to walk on a leash very well. Im planning to take her to obedience courses once school is out. Any tips until then? (I am most worried about her not drinking or pottying).
My 5 month old puppy has difficulty obeying my commands: to stay, to leave things, to not tear up training pads, and to play with his own toys. He thinks my other dog’s toys are his as well, leaving my other dog with nothing to play with. What can I do to get him to understand these things? Oh and he also thinks my other dog’s ears are toys so he tries to bite them. #help
What shots dose my puppy need
She's seven months and we're experiencing temperament/behavior problems. We think she's possessive aggressive, but she then randomly attacks family members' feet. "Ow/Ouch" and yelping does not work on her. We have her enrolled in training, but my family is getting scared of her because of how violent it's getting.
Hello, I have an 8 month old Australian shepherd mix, and I'm wondering how old she should be for me to start training her to run. Thanks
