Hello. I am sorry that Bayleigh isn't feeling well. Decreasing any seizure medication can result in a seizure, and is never recommended without direct veterinary supervision. If you feel that the Zonisamide is resulting in negative side effects, chat with your vet about switching to either Pexion or Phenobarbital or Keppra. These are newer medications that may have less side effects for Bayleigh. Depending on her levels and the medications, your vet will tell you how to switch safely. Good luck with her!

Sometimes the anti-seizure medication needs to be increased to control the seizures, there is a chance they could get worse over time as you've seen. I think upping Mali's dosage is a good idea, and see how this helps her. If it doesn't, take her back into the vet.

Hello. Reese will be just fine. He is actually on a pretty low dose, so I would not expect any problems at all. Just continue with his regular 10 mg dose in 12 hours. Thanks for contacting Boop by Petco.

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. It is best to NOT re-dose him until you are 100% sure he has not received the evening medication. If you are unsure then skip the evening dose and start again tomorrow morning. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Hello, Keppra has a wide safety margin and very high dosages have been reported to cause increase salivation. The zonisamide is 2 times the high end of normal, but not near the dose where it could be dangerous. You may note that Molly is sedate, lethargic, she may have some vomiting or wobbly walk. You should contact your veterinarian in the morning to see if they want you to continue normal dosing times or if you should change the timing. Monitor for any overly sedate behavior or obtundation and contact your emergency veterinarian if you note any. Best of luck and hope this helps.
