I do not know if my dog got his second dose of Zonisamide. He takes three 100 mg pills twice a day and 61 lbs. He did get his am dose, not sure on the pm dose.
If I accidentally give my dog double dose of zonisamide will it hurt him? He is 10lbs and takes 10mg twice a day. 13!years oldz
My dog started having seizures back in May. She since has been put on zonisamide twice a day to control her seizures. She went 6 weeks without having one since she was first put on zonisamide and had 3 today. Thinking she may have epilepsy. Would epilepsy prevail over the zonisamide? The vet sent her home with instructions to up her dosage of zonisamide. She is also diabetic and takes insulin but her levels were normal after the seizures. Any input?
If the dose of Gabapentin is so small, why is it only available in 100mg capsules? That means I have to break open the capsule and divide it into thirds for my cat!
A vet that specializes in neurology provided me with Gabapentin 50 mg tabs to give my cat twice a day. There are no numbers on them, just white round scored tablets. Evertthing I google says lowest dose is 100 mg. Concerned I may have been given the wrong medication.
Hi! I think one of my dogs may have eaten some of my other dogs drugs. He polished off her food that she left unbeknownst this me. She is on 200 mg of zonisimide, 100 mg of minocycline, 500 mg of niacinamide, and 50 mg of carprofen per meal (2x/day). She is a 75lb lab. He is 65lbs and could have ingested any combination of those drugs. He is now acting a bit nauseated which I’m attributing to the minocycline... I’m mostly concerned about the zonisimide considering he doesn’t experience seizures.
9yr pitmix started having seizures on Feb 27th vet said blood and x-rays were good. Seized again 28th, gives zonisamide, total of 13 seizures until March 2nd. Not 1 seizure since. Had complete amnesia March 2-7.. Now she has squinty red eyes, tilts & shakes head, paws at eyes, and ears, lack energy, appetite, wobbly sometimes. Is this Allergies, ear infection, side effects of meds?
My cat was prescribed 50 mg amoxicillin but the pharmacy gave me 250 mg capsules. how do I safely dose this?
Would gabapentin help with Sammie's eye pain? I've read that it's ok in small doses. Is it?
Is there anything cheaper than potassium bromide? My 15 month Papillon is on that and Keppra. Non of which seems to be working as she has cluster seizures every day. Keppra 125 mg x2 and 0.4ml bromide. The bromide costs £131 for four weeks! The bottle holds 250 ml so most of it has to be thrown away. She was on epiphen but has had to come off it because of her liver.
My dog takes 750mg Keppra and 400mg zonisamide twice a day. Tonight she got her pills twice by accident 90 minutes apart. She seems fine but is this serious?
Quinton takes 50 mg of gabapentin every 12 hrs but I have to break open the capsules and put the powder in his mouth. This morning I think I missed getting all of the 50 mg in his mouth so I gave him a little more. If I gave him too much is this an overdose. He is hard to give meds and he had a little more left after I was sure I got morein his mouth. Will this harm him.
