Hi there! For fleas and ticks, the most effective products currently available are Nexgard and Bravecto. These are both beef-flavored soft chews that most dogs like. My dogs are on Bravecto at the moment, which has been working great for them :) You should be able to get these meds from your vet, or order them online with a prescription.

I would strongly recommend a veterinary visit for Duke. It sounds like he may have a bit of flea allergy dermatitis or a hotspot from the fleas as well as fleas. There are some great newer generations Flea and tick medications but they are prescription only; either oral or topical. Being a lab, if he is in the water a lotThe topical treatments are not likely to be as effective. Someone of the oral medications such as nex guard or bravecto or comfortis may be ideal for Duke. And from your description he may need some systemic antibiotics or steroids to help clear up his infection. Good luck I hope Duke get some relief soon and thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Charlie! I recommend the following products for ticks: Nexgard, Bravecto, Simparica or the Seresto Collar. The spot on treatments, bathing and powders do not work well anymore. Hopefully you can get one of the above products from your Vet. The Seresto collars can be found online but I have heard of counterfeit ones being sold on amazon so be careful of online sources. It is best to try to get them from your Vet. I hope this helps and I wish Charlie the best!

These are likely to be fleas (although a pic of it would help to determine the underlying cause more specifically). Here is a list of good quality flea (and ticks) treatment. Spot ons: Revolution, Advantage, Advantage Multi. A good house spray would be Indoorex. There are several products effective against fleas and ticks that you can buy over the counter. They are in form of topical spot-on pipette that you apply on skin (for example Frontline, K9 Advantix), collars (Seresto, Killtix) or tablets (Nexgard). If you search online you will find many shops selling these products. Alternatively, you should be able to buy them in pet shops or at the vets.
