Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I have had excellent luck with Royal Canin so I can definitely support giving that a try. In general for giant breed dogs, feed according to the bag. Being 7 months, Bear is probably past the biggest of the growth spurts but we probably still don’t want to free feed. However, it the giant breed formulas, it is safer to feed larger quantities while still keeping bone growth at a proper rate. As for the beard, I have a schnauzer so I can relate a little. My best advice is just to wash the beard with a puppy shampoo once a week. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Finally, for the skin. Adding about 2000 mg per day of Fish oil can sometimes help with the skin however, I recommend talking to your vet. If Bear is already this itchy, food or environmental allergies could be to blame. Bet wishes to you and Bear!

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. This could be allergies. I would recommend the below products and see if these help. These products can all be found online quite easily. If there is no improvement or the allergies worsen, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Bear so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. 1. Welactin omega 3 fish oil 2. Douxo PS Calm shampoo and bathe twice weekly 3. Essential 6 spot on by Dermoscent 4. Malacetic conditioning spray and apply to affected areas twice daily until resolved.

In general, using a high quality brand is the best way to assure that Bear Bear's coat is healthy. Brands that I typically recommend include Science Diet, Purina ProPlan and Royal Canin because these companies conduct extensive clinical studies and analyses regarding their foods and source ingredients appropriately. Continue feeding Bear Bear puppy food until he is 1 year old, then gradually transition to an adult dog food. Anytime you make a diet change, be sure to do so by gradually mixing old and new foods together over 5-7 days. Bathing every 2-4 weeks in a gentle oatmeal based dog shampoo can also be beneficial. If he seems to have dry skin, an omega 3 fatty acid supplement (such as Welactin) can be beneficial. Also, make sure that he is receiving a high quality flea and tick preventative (such as Nexgard, Bravecto or Advantix) regularly.

If there is a concern that Bear may somehow gotten rat poisoning, I recommend to have him examined quickly. He will need some blood testing and a physical exam. Coughing and diarrhea could be due to many things including an infection and parasites (though more sinister causes could also be present). These two symptoms could be related or unrelated. If the diarrhea continues beyond 24 hours, if the coughing continues beyond 48 hours or if either seems to be getting worse, he should be examined by the veterinarian. Avoid any strenuous activity to allow him to rest. You may also feed him a bland diet or boiled white meat chicken and boiled white rice for 24 hours. I hope this helps and have Bear examined if needed.

I have never heard of giving rats nylabones but a rat will chew on anything. I would likely advise to stick to toys/chew objects meant for rats. As far as it goes for toys for your boxer, stick to soft toys or rubber toys. I would not get anything with hard components as I would not want to damage her gums or remaining teeth (if she has any?). Nylabone does make softer toys but these break apart easier if she has any teeth to chew them. Kong products are good options too. I hope this helps!
