I just had my cat spayed and was told NOT to feed her human food i.e. chicken, turkey, etc., why? I only feed her a few pieces for a treat not as a full meal - I give her regular cat food for a regular meal.
Too much human food adds extra calories a cat doesn't need. In addition, it can make them picky, as they tend to like human food better and then won't eat their cat food. It's fine to give as an occasional treat, but I actually never give my cats human food at all. For a treat for them, I give them Temptations or canned food. I hope this helps!

Smokey is adorable! I love black cats. Any treat that is given occasionally is okay. Hill's has a page that tells you how to make treats from their prescription diets here. https://www.hillspet.com/cat-care/nutrition-feeding/healthy-homemade-cat-treats. The main thing is to to ensure that Smokey gets lots of clean fresh water all the time and make sure he's drinking. Feeding canned food is a way to ensure he's getting more water but I know some cats prefer dry to canned and can't be convinced otherwise.

My new kitty cat is two years old and was adopted from a shelter in July so she’s been fixed and chipped. I’m assuming they gave her whatever shots she would need. This information may be on the papers on her that I will get on Wednesday. My question
Hunny Cat is so beautiful! If you are adopting her from a shelter, she should have a check up with the vet before being given to her new home. Ask them if she has seen a vet, and if she has, then you don't need to take her into a vet now for a check up. I would only do it if she hasn't seen a vet recently. In terms of food, for the supermarket brands, I feel Purina One is the best. Other brands of food I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. For treats, I like Temptations. My cats love their treats, and come running whenever I shake the bag. I hope this helps!

Sully is adorable! Thanks for including a picture. I wish I could give you a simple answer to your question, but every animal is different and some require a combination of products. I would say that about 50% of the animals I try it with have a good response to Rescue Remedy, so that is often my first choice for cats (especially since it can just be added to the water). I have not used the other products, but both appear to have ingredients that could be used alone or in combination with Rescue Remedy. Don't forget that natural supplements are much more variable than medications and will not sedate, so they are sometimes not enough for a very anxious cat. I also recommend combining supplements with a Feliway Diffuser ( https://www.feliway.com ) or a Comfort Zone Diffuser ( https://www.comfortzone.com/ ) in your house. One of my cats tore into their calming treats bag. I am unsure about how many could have been ate. My cats are acting fine. I’ve done some research on the ingredients and everything assures me they will be okay, except I don’t understand one ingredie
L-tryptophan is just an amino acid, a constituent of proteins. Excessive treats like these ones could cause vomiting and diarrhoea. If that is the case, as a first approach, I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitely recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist more than 48hours or you notice lethargy or inappetence.
