My dog has itchy skin and subsides with Temaril-P He is 4 years old, he has nothing in the skin. I did the Scan food test and he has the diet that is agreed according to the test. I have been using shampoo with clorhexidin and the itch comes and go.
Temaril p is a combination antihistamine and steroid used to help with allergies. Some dogs have environmental allergies that are seasonal and based in exposure. This can be to things such as dust, pollen, grasses...things you can't control. They do make safer immunosuppressive medicine such as Apoquel that helps with this if needed

My dog was prescribed medication called remarking p: prednisone + trimepraz and I gave him pills total today 2 in the am and 2 around 3pm. He has a cone on so to not lick his paws that have abrasions from scratching the concrete so I gave him Benadry
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Don’t panic! Benedryl can be safely given with Temeril-p . It may cause some drowsiness because the temeril-p already has an antihistamine in it but it sounds like that was the goal so no worries! Continue giving the Temeril P as prescribed. My dog was prescribed temaril-p and she has peed in the house a few times since her 2nd dose. Is this normal? She is 9 years old and house trained and never has any issues.
Yes, this is a common side effect of this medication. Temaril-P contains prednisolone, which is a steroid - this is very effective at relieving allergy-related itching as well as a variety of other conditions, but it often causes increased thirst and urination as a side effect. In some dogs, this can be severe enough to cause urinary accidents in the house. This isn't dangerous at all, but can definitely be annoying for dog owners! I would recommend calling your veterinarian in the morning to let them know that Marley is having this problem. He/she may recommend reducing her dose to decrease the chance of further accidents.

My dog has a very bad skin allergies and is on Sure Temaril. Is there a better holistic way of treating her. She is always hungry
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. The Temaril medication can cause the increased appetite along with other side effects since it is a steroid medication. There are better options out there now, even prescription medications. For more natural remedies, I recommend the following: 1. Welactin omega 3 fish oil 2. Duoxo PS Calm shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved 3. Essential 6 spot on by Dermoscent All of the above mentioned products can be found online quite easily. If these do not work and holistic remedies are not helping, I would speak with your veterinarian about alternative options to Temaril. There are newer medications such as Apoquel and Cytopoint that are safer than the Temaril that Lulu is currently on. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

My dog has taken temaril twice daily last 2 days today she very lethargic and shaking. Can I stop the meds
Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. Temaril is used primarily for treating allergic skin problems. If Minnie is not showing any symptoms of an allergy (for example itchy skin, ears inflammation, red skin on paws and on the abdomen) but she looks lethargic and unwell, she probably does not need Temaril at the moment. Please, get in touch with your regular vets as soon as they are available to confirm that the tablets should be stopped and to book an appointment for Minnie to make sure she is OK.
