In my experience, a cat who wants to escape from something like a harness will eventually find a way. I do think that this type tends to work a little better: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/petsafe-gentle-leader-come-with-me-kitty-harness-and-bungee-leash-in-blue I also think training is very important: put the harness on for very short periods of time while offering food or a treat and gradually work your way up to longer time. If he starts to get upset with the harness training is over and you should take it off. All harness time should be fun! Once he seems comfortable you can then try adding a lead.

I would like to make a first aid kit for my cat and I would like to know what brands and items are good and effective?
Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! If you are interested in creating a first aide kit, I would recommend including the following items: 1. Gauze pads and rolls 2. Medical Tape 3. Antiseptic spray 4. Hydrogen Peroxide 5. An ice pack 6. Medical gloves (either latex or non latex) 7. Lubricant (petroleum jelly is ok) 8. Thermoeter 9. Scissors 10. Tweezers 11. Cotton Balls and Q-tips. 12. Sterile Saline Solution For any of the above, any brand will be okay. First aid kits are meant to be a temporary solution until Jackie can see her veterinarian. If she actually ingesting the non food items, this condition is indeed called feline pica. If she is sucking or nursing on them, this is an entirely different behavior. Ideally, she should be physically examined by your veterinarian to diagnose any underlying medical causes. Once those have been ruled out you can focus on behavioral causes. Many times, stress or boredom can cause aberrant behavior. Consider a pheromone product such as Feliway Spray or plug in diffuser to decrease any stress or anxiety. Keep Maui engaged and distracted using a variety of toys and exercise. Restrict access to those items she eats or sucks on, stopping and correcting the behavior when observed. Be consistent and be patient.

Yes, this is ok for her to wear. In order for her to be able to eat, you may want to elevate the food bowl. That is a soft e-collar and not as irritating as a plastic one and she will get used to it.

I haven't used Beaphar products before, but just looking at their ingredients, I would probably recommend using their treats for the actual drive because it has 3 different ingredients that may help with stress. If you think that needs to be combined with a longer lasting product, it looks like the collar has both Valerian and lavender, while the spot on only has Valerian. But if your cat is not used to wearing a collar, then she may not tolerate the collar well. I would contact the company to discuss the specifics of your move and ask them for a recommendation. As far as other products to consider to help stranger cats get along, I have a couple suggestions (although the Beaphar products may be very helpful). The goal is to decrease stress between the cats. One option for decreasing stress is to add a Feliway Diffuser ( https://www.feliway.com ) to your house. This is a calming pheromone that will work for a month.
