Sotalol Heart & Blood Pressure Medicine for Cats

Hello, My pup was recently diagnosed with severe SAS and prescribed Sotalol. On the other hand I was reading about other types of supplements for heart conditions, specifically pet wellbeing “young at heart” that I am interested in trying but is not recommended to use with heart medications. What would be best for my pup?

Diagnosed bronchitis, HCM (LA sev. dilated), and CHF via X-ray and echo. 2nd set X-rays 3 days later showed improvement in lungs. Discharged on clopidogrel, clavamox, lasix, fluticasone. Resp.rate ~ 25. Drinking, eating small amounts, urinating. F/U appointment 1 week. I see atenolol is regularly used in HCM patients after CHF is controlled with no fluid in lungs. Has nebivolol ever been used in cats as it is cardioselective and less AEs? Nebivolol doesn't have as big HR reduction though.

12-14 year old boxer w B hip dysplasia and boxer cardiomyopathy. on sotolol and rimadyl. also takes DES for hormonal incontinence. Progressive symptoms in past 6-8 months w SOB upon minimal exertion or excitement, very characteristic of lar par. wanted to know your thoughts on doxypin.

What blood pressure medication do you recommend to control the cough of an enlarged heart?

Both of my dogs were prescribed Apoquel for allergic dermatitis & chronic itching. It has been very successful, but at a cost of $2.23 per tablet it's very expensive. One of my dogs had chronic ear infections requiring 2 separate ear surgeries (ear flap hematoma & myringotomy). Since starting Apoquel NO ear infections. Are there any resources for lower cost of this medication? Your comments on long term use of Apoquel would be appreciated.

Can my 121 lb lab/great dane who has cardiomyopthy be given lorazapam to help relax him so the stress of his coughing and seizures isn't so stressful? He was just put on furosemide 50mg and enalopril 20mg to and has had only one dose of each. Tonight he is having a coughing spell about every 5- 10 mins rough night to all

My dog was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She was recently put on furosemide and benazapril. She seems to be doing much better, but she has recently started to make some jolting motions when she relaxes. I can also notice a slight twitch almost in sync with her heartbeat. Should I be concerned or does this seem like a normal side effect of medications? Thank you!
