My favorite rawhide chews are sold through a company called Raw Feeding Miami (www.rawfeedingmiami.com). They have large, very durable rawhide rolls that are all-natural and made without any chemicals or artificial processing. They're quite thick and last a long time, even for big dogs - I would highly recommend giving them a try if you're looking for a good rawhide for Buddy :)

To keep dogs entertained for a longer period of time, I like to feed dehydrated chews. My largest dogs prefers bully sticks (https://www.bestbullysticks.com/4-inch-odor-free-bully-sticks) and my smaller dog loves dehydrated fish skins (https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/beams). They also like dehydrated sweet potato chews like Sam's Yams, but I might do something smaller for Jasper like their Bichon Fries (https://www.frontporchpets.com/sam-s-yams-bichon-fries-new-larger-size-12-5-oz.html). There are a large number of dehydrated chews on the market now, so you might ask at your local pet store to see if they have any suggestions for you. Please let me know if that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hi and good question! The short answer to this is... yes! Smoke inhalation can also cause health problems for our pets as well. Like humans, dogs can experience compromised lung function due to exposure to smoke. Dogs that have underlying health issues such as COPD, heart disease, lung disease, or who are of the Brachycephalic breeds are more at risk. Please keep Holly away from the smoke!

My personal preference is compressed rawhide (not regular rawhide). Pig ears and Nylabones are OK too. Any of these types of treats you give them should only be given supervised. Antlers are not recommended - they are too hard and often break their teeth. Same with cow hooves. https://www.petsupplies.com/dog-supplies/rawhide-bones/pressed-rawhide/9398/

Discontinue feeding ALL table food. Choose one dog food and stick with it. Frequent diet changes can create a finicky eater and may lead to GI upset. You can add warm water or a teaspoon of baby food (no onion or garlic) to stimulate Smoke's appetite. If you are not doing so, offer food on a consistent schedule. Dogs love routine and look forward to mealtimes. At her age, she can be fed twice daily. Prepare her food and place it in her designated feeding area. After 15-20 minutes, pick it up whether she has eaten or not. Repeat this at the next scheduled meal time. Do not offer any snacks, treats or other food between meals. Be firm and be consistent. Smoke will not starve. She will eat when she gets hungry.
