My dog (4 year old Cavapoo) consumed Smokehouse treats and she became very ill. She vomited, had bloody stools and diarrhea. Since my dog had a complete physical less than a month before, I knew this was something that needed immediate attention. After rushing to the vet, she was given medication and was put on a bland diet (chicken & rice). Her condition improved. After a week I gave her a smokehouse treat, and immediately she began vomiting. It was at this point I realized the Smokehouse treats were making her sick. I contacted Smokehouse and spoke with Lisa at customer service. She said SMOKEHOUSE TREATS ARE MADE IN CHINA, and they are safe for dogs to eat. She asked me to send her written documentation of everything included product code #s. I sent everything. Including over $800 in vet bills. SHE HAS FAILED TO RESPOND TO MY EMAIL. THIS IS BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. SHE DID NOT RESPOND TO ME AFTER HAVING ME SEND HER DETAILED INFORMATION. SHE IS NOT PREVENTING ANOTHER DOG FROM BECOMING ILL. SHAME ON YOU LISA ! AND SHAME ON SMOKEHOSE COMPANY FOR NOT CARING ABOUT OUR FAMILY PET MEMBERS. THEY DON’T DESERVE OUR BUSINESS ! My dog suffered weeks of illness and I suffered undue stress of my pet being sick from consuming this product.
