It isn't good for a pet to hold their bladder long. I would recommend taking her out on a short walk with an umbrella to cover most of the rain droplets to see if this increased activity will stimulate her to go. Most pets can't resist going if they are physically stimulated in this manner. I hope that this does the trick for your pet Hershey! Eventually she will have to go, despite the rain. And if she is otherwise still energetic. not vomiting, and eating or drinking a little, I would not be worried about a medical condition here. Best wishes with your pet Hershey moving forward. Take care!

Heavy shedding can be extremely frustrating! Try bathing Leah about once a month and brush her at least 1-2 times per week in an attempt to minimize shedding. You can also use a special grooming tool, such as a Furminator (https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/furminator-short-hair-deshedding-tool-for-small-dogs), which is designed to remove some of the extra undercoat that is most often shed. Just use caution if you decide to use a Furminator because it is easy to overdo it and create some bald spots! I hope this helps and that all goes well!

Hi, I can't see any areas of hair loss or alopecia in the pictures you sent us. I take it the hair loss is likely to be normal for his coat and breed type. Excessive hair needs to be lost generally during the warmer months, and normally when you think it is becoming unbearable you are close to the end of the cycle. Dogs that live in climates with cold winter and warm summer also tend to shed more. You can help shedding by gently brushing your dog, until he gets used to it, and then you can brush it for longer periods of time and with the strength you would use to brush your hair. Try to keep brushing and grooming positive experiences, by offering small treats and end the experience in a positive way by petting him when he is behaving well and not by letting him run off or wriggle away. Washing also helps grooming, remember to dry him off completely in wintertime and at least partially in warmer months. Another way to help shedding is to use a damp towel to stroke him. Hope this helps

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Most dogs and cats are shedding this time of year.To know if it is appropriate is based on breed: does this breed shed? And if there are spots of missing fur or an uneven hair coat. If the coat still looks good and there are not patches of missing fur and Coby isn't scratching, it is likely normal. I wish you the best!

If Allie has dry skin, it may be causing her to itch more. Sometimes when dogs itch more often, they can shed more hair than normal. Make sure she does not have any red/pink skin discoloration or scabby lesions on her skin. If you see these, she may need antibiotics from a veterinarian to help her from being itchy. If she does not have skin lesions but does have dry/flaky skin, an omega 3 fatty acid/fish oil supplement taken orally should help resolve her dry skin issue. You can find several different brands for dogs online or at pet stores/vet clinics. There are several dog food brands that are high in omega 3 fatty acids. Look for a dog food that contains salmon. Another option to decrease the amount of dog hair in your house would be to have a groomer give Allie a "lion cut". This means that the groomer would trim the hair on Allie's body but leave the hair on her neck, head/face, tail, and legs. I hope this has helped. Thank you for using pet coach.
