hello, I just got a kitten she is one month old. I just want to know what to get for her when i go shopping tomorrow to go get stuff from your store.
Congratulations!! I would recommend making sure you get kitten appropriate toys, two litter boxes and kitten food. At 1 month of age I would recommend a wet kitten food. I would also recommend clumping litter for her. You can always get her other fun stuff like a soft bed for her. I would hold off on any treats until she gets used to her new home. Hello. The cats & kittens offered at Petco are actually managed by individual rescue groups. Prices will differ from rescue to rescue. All cats can do well if they are played with & fussed over once you get home. Can they get into trouble & sometimes make a mess? Absolutely. If you do not want hair & dander & kitty litter tracked all over the house, you should not have a pet. Cats may need to have their claws trimmed ( NOT REMOVED ) & plenty of opportunities to exercise their claws, otherwise they will scratch your furniture, moldings & walls. You will need different types of scratching surfaces, plenty of toys, a water & food dish, litter box ( or 2 ), & lots of patience. All cats are individuals, so when you go looking to adopt a cat, take your family & give yourself plenty of time to spend with your potential pet, & ask lots of questions about them. I need some advice how many toys should a 1 year old cat have and I just got her 2 weeks ago and she keeps hiding from me why does she hid?
I usually recommend getting toys a cat likes to play with, and that depends on the individual cat. Some cats like to chase balls, others like toys with catnip in it, and some love feathers attached to strings. I personally really like the Catit brand of toys, they have this Senses Play Circuit with a ball in it, and it encourages a cat to play but they can do it on their own. I would go to a pet store and get a variety of five toys to see what Keke may like best. Moving into a new home is stressful for a cat, and it will take time for her adjust. Be patient. Offer her treats and praise when she comes out of hiding to see you. That will encourage her to come out more. I hope this helps!

Hi there and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Congratulations on your new kitty! In these situations it is best to do introductions very slowly. Some suggestions I have for you are as follows: 1) Use a Feliway diffuser to reduce overall tension in household 2) Go back to the beginning and over the first week introduce by smell only (introducing cats to each others bedding or something that has their scent on it) 3) Then introduce by sight only but no direct interaction. Do this for a week 4) Finally introduce cats together but only with direct supervision and with plenty of escape routes for both cats. Only leave them together for a very short time at first 5) Have plenty of tall cat towers and other things for the cats so they can observe each other from a distance 6) Have at least 3 litter boxes in different locations and definitely continue to feed separately and have separate water bowls. It's great that you want to be prepared for your new kitten! Aside from the obvious things for the kitten like food and water bowls, I'd recommend a tall scratching post and perch. Two litter boxes in different areas of the house are recommended. Canned kitten food (and canned adult cat food as Myla gets older) is preferred over dry food.
