Hello and thank you for using Boop by Petco! Quercetin is a supplement that has many applications and appears to be safe and well tolerated in dogs. One product that I have seen used that seems to be safe and effective is NaturVet Aller-911 Allergy Aid chews. This has 25mg of Quercetin in it, which would be a safe dose. This brand can be found online or at your local pet store such as PetCo. I would also recommend Welactin omega 3 fish oil capsules to help reduce inflammation and Turmeric root can also help reduce inflammation. A product that may help reduce inflammation is Ayush Herbs Curcumin 97%. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Ouch, poor Dude! Cephalexin may help to treat any infection/abscess that has formed around the remaining quill, but the only way to really resolve the issue is to have the quill removed. (As a side note, only give the cephalexin if it has been prescribed or discussed with Dude's vet.) Your best bet is to take Dude to the vet because he will likely need sedation to have the quill removed and have the lesion flushed with saline. I hope that he feels better soon!

The drug information for Apoquel states that no specific drug interactions have been reported. From Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook: "Marketing information from the drug sponsor states that oclacitinib has been safely used in conjunction with other common medications including vaccines, NSAIDs, antibiotics, parasiticides, anticonvulsants, and allergen immunotherapy (Anon 2013b), but this information could not be found on the drug label." I would be ok with using these two medications together with that information.

I'm so sorry to hear Delilah isn't feeling well. I wouldn't recommend giving the Klonopin. Give the ice and Previcoxx time to kick in. Also, continue to rest her so she doesn't over do it when she's feeling better. Kisses to Delilah!

Quercetin is probably safe, however, there is not evidence (in animals or people) that it helps for either allergies or urinary health. Papain/bromelain are good choices as they both do have evidence to support anti-inflammatory and possible immune modulating effects. Omega 3’s are another of my go-to’s for allergies. All of that said, I have not had much success with moderate to severe allergies without western medical choices (but with mild allergies it can work!). Hope this helps and best of luck to you and Blessibg!
