Cats actually prefer to drink from running water. I suggest you get her a water/drinking fountain: ( https://www.petco.com/shop/SearchDisplay?categoryId=&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&sType=SimpleSearch&resultCatEntryType=2&showResultsPage=true&searchSource=Q&pageView=&beginIndex=0&pageSize=48&fromPageValue=search&searchKeyword=&searchTerm=water+fountain )

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! There are a few things that you can consider including splitting her feedings into a few a day using the slow feeder. You can look into getting a different slow feeder. Also, you can consider basically throwing her food (kibble) in a room which is going to spread it out and Jackie will have to eat it more slowly. This usually works really well. Good luck and have a great day!

Hi, thabks for using Boop by Petco! You can try doing smaller meals more frequently. Or try the interactive feeders, where the cats have to work for the food. They also make food dispensers that are set on timers. Then you can set the timers for small meals through out the day. Then hopefully they will stare at the feeder and not you! Good luck!

Canned food is recommended because it has a high moisture content and it is a high protein/low carb diet. Cats are obligate carnivores, which means they require protein (of animal origin) and very little to no carbs in their diet. In the wild, the only carbs ingested are typically those eaten by small prey. Many dry foods, by their very nature, are high in carbs which can lead to obesity. You can continue to feed a dry food as long as you choose a grain free or low carb product. Keep them up to date on vaccines, use monthly parasite prevention, feed a healthy diet and provide plenty of exercise and love. Probiotics can be used to promote gut health and won't harm them, however if they have no GI issues then you can skip them.

Either kind of wet cat food is fine to feed. Your new cat may have his or her own preferences so you may want to buy both types and see which kind is preferred. Thanks for using Boop by Petco and good luck with your new cat!
