Harrison's Bird Diet is the best food out there. It is pelleted so there can be some resistance from your bird transitioning to the new diet if he has been on a seed diet, but it is nutritionally complete and very high quality. Toys I find that lovebirds like have been cotton rope toys that they can preen and groom like the feathers of another bird.

Thanks for reaching out. Sound like you have a full house. 1. Birds will often bond together but continue to work with them in a quiet environ, offering treats to win and re-enforce trust. Toys, the radio or tv, can all assist with boredom. Setting up foraging toys so birds need to spend time looking for food. 2. There is no such thing as too big a cage. 3. Heating rocks are rarely approved for use, as they will eventually become faulty and get too hot, potentially damaging the animal. A heat lamp is recommended. 4. The bunny's litter box should be spot cleaned daily and full clean weekly. If you can smell it you waited too long. Good luck.

Our poor parakeet Blueberry is really sick and the vet didn’t help and no bird vet avail until Monday yesterday his head was rocky and face feathers yellow and he perked up when we got home he made it through night and I was worried he wasn’t eating
Thanks for reaching out about Blueberrry. Supplying supplemental heat at 80-85 F can give some support but is not a cure. A veterinary emergency clinic is recommended to provide subcutaneous fluids, start antibiotics. Removed perches and provide a soft towel on the bottom of the cage for comfort. Offer water via a small syringe. Possibilities include infections, metabolic disorders (liver, kidney), ingested or inhaled toxins. Once again, a veterinary visit on emergency is recommended. I'm sorry to hear your bird passed away. The Mazuri diet is great. Unfortunately I am not familiar with the Higgins seeds. I think you would have been better off using the Mazuri only. It is a complete feed and you should not need to supplement with anything else. Were you giving many high calcium/oxalate veggies? He may have had an underlying kidney issue which would have predisposed him to the gout. That is probably the most likely scenario.

I want a pet bird but I have NO space!! I want one of those gothic hanging cages…would one of those work? What’s a bird that’s low maintenance (I’m not good at cleaning cages) I also want one with a not super long life span.
Birds can be fun pets to have around the house, but I have to say that they are all high-maintenance. They require daily feeding, cleaning bathing and appropriate enrichment in order to keep them happy and healthy. If this is not provided, then you may end up with a miserable/sickly bird with no feathers. Vet bills can be very expensive when birds get sick, because there are limited veterinarians that are knowledgable and skilled with avian medicine. Providing as much space as possible is best for a bird. I think I have an idea of the type of cage you want, but this is not a very suitable cage for anything other than a small bird (tend to have shorter life-spans than bigger birds). Even then it's quite small for a bird, because birds are born with the expectation of having unlimited space. You will also have to consider the noise. If your place is small, then I'd assume you have close neighbors. Birds are generally very noisy and can easily make some enemies in close quar
