I got him a new cage, with solid floorings and placed a toilet tray in it. He uses it but most of the time he pees and poo outside of it. He then steps on his own pee and the bottom of his feet are yellow and dirty, the fur is clumping up. Can I wet
Place a litterbox in each corner of the cage. When he goes outside of it, pick up the pellets and place them in the box he uses most often. Do the same with his urine. Soak It up with a tissue or scoop the wet bedding into the litterbox. Remove the litterboxes he doesn't use, one at a time, once you have determined his preference. You'll need to gradually acclimate him to allowing his feet to be touched. Allowing his feet to remain wet or wetting them frequently may predispose him to infection.

All good questions!. Dog's ears are shaped a little bit differently than people's ears. You don't have to be very scared of damaging the ear drums because the canals are L-shaped. As long and you go straight in and do not try and bend a q-tip in a 90 degree angle, there should be very little chance for damage. A cleansing formulation should be available at most pet stores. Deposit this into the ear first, massage at the base of the ear, and then clean the ear with gauze and/or q-tips. Be sure to get most of the liquid out, as leaving residual moisture in the ears can actually cause an infection. As far as teeth, tooth brushes and doggy toothpaste is readily available at your vet or a pet store. You don't have to brush them every night, but once or twice a week would be great. Depending on the color your dog's nails, you can sometimes see precisely just how far you can clip the nails without causing a problem. I am getting a new puppy in 8 weeks! What all do I need to do to get prepared for the arrival of our new family member?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! What an exciting time. You would need to start by getting a high quality diet (I like the Purina Pro Plan diets though there are plenty to choose from). Also, a dog bed and toys will be important as well. I recommend that you check with your veterinarian to get him in for initiation of vaccines and to start other preventative care medications such as flea and tick preventatives and heartworm preventatives. Most household cleaning products are fine to use around your cat. There is no serious harm here if you are using products and then allowing them to airdry. The main concern is that some aerosolized cleaning products can cause irritation of your cats airway in some cases. However, most of these products will also cause you discomfort as well, so use your best judgement here. In most situations if you can handle exposure to the product, then so can your pet. As far as ingesting products go, you just have to make sure not to leave out any buckets of cleaner that your cat could potentially get into, and you are basically covered here as well. If you are still a bit worried about your pet, you can also switch all your household products to more organic cleaning products such as Green Works or the Mrs. Meyers products, which are derived from 98% natural products.
