Hello and thank you for your post! I have used Fluconazole multiple times for yeast infections and 200mg twice daily is within the dosing range. I would discuss this with your prescribing veterinarian first before switching as different drugs are used in different circumstances. In my experience, Fluconazole has less side effects than Ketoconazole and I prefer Fluconazole. I do not know what concentration your amoxicillin syrup is, but if it is just a yeast infection, an antibiotic like amoxicillin is not going to help. Levofenil is a human product and has not been tested for use in animals, so I would avoid using this solution for treating Milo. I would recommend bathing Milo twice weekly with Duoxo Chlorhexidine PS combination shampoo until resolved. This shampoo will treat bacterial and fungal skin infections and it does so quite well. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns! I am also available via consultation if needed.

I'm sorry that you are dealing with this with Doughnut. I would talk to your vet about suggestions for her anxiety. We know that anxiety and stress worsens the immune system, so it is worth finding a way to decrease Doughnut's anxiety. There are a number of options to try. I love Feliway diffusers for any anxiety. https://www.feliway.com/uk I have also had good luck with Rescue Remedy. http://www.bachflower.com/rescue-remedy-pets-bach-flower/ There are a large number of supplements and medications that can be used for anxiety, but I always try to limit the number of medications that I have to give to an anxious cat. I would also discuss with your vet if you can have Doughnut's medication compounded into a liquid or a treat to make it easier to give to her. Good luck! I hope that was helpful and gives you some ideas to try. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Clotrimazole (Lotrimin) can be tried, with or without the steroid. It is always recommended to apply a thin layer of the product on the skin and allowing it to air dry for 20-30 minutes. The product should not be allowed to be licked by your pet during the drying timeframe, and gloves should be worn when handling this medication. Use care when treating a large area, smaller areas of application are preferred. If no improvement is seen within 7-14 days then most pets require an oral anti-fungal prescription medication from their veterinarian.

Unfortunately, we are not permitted to give out drug dosages without a veterinarian - client - pet relationship. If you are seeking this information, I would obtain it through a veterinarian in person or through a veterinary formulary such as Plumb's or Merck. Hope this makes sense.

Hello. I do question the prednisone, since it is immunosupressive & may not be the best choice for treating this now, unless there is so much inflammation & your vets are just trying to make Susan more comfortable. There is also nothing wrong with starting the Lamisil while awaiting culture results, however, I might have also started an antibiotic, too. I would speak with your veterinarian about your concerns & see if an antibiotic is appropriate & if Susan can tolerate the additional medications. Thanks for contacting Boop by Petco.
