My cat butters takes Flovent 44mcg inhaler three times daily as prescribed by his vet and also has albuterol inh (prn) I recently had to board him for 5 days (at his same vet). When I picked him up and looked at his Flovent which I purchased the day of his boarding the metered counter on back was in same position. They are looking into what happened My concern was they gave him albuterol three times a day instead of Flovent. Could this have been harmful to him?
I have a 2 year old pit mix and she has recently been wheezing and has clear nasal discharge. Today, after bathing and drying her very well, she had the symptoms. She has had a history of allergies before, but it was on her skin and the vet told us what it was. Could this be allergies or asthma? If so, can I give her Benadryl or could that induce the asthma? I have albuterol and Flovent, but i think it’s too strong for her. what can I do? besides a vet please, unless It sounds threatening.
Hi, I'd like a 2nd opinion on Beau's CBC. He has high GGT but the vet dismissed it. His T4 is 1.1. Kidney values are steady. Since the last CBC, he has stopped a low dosage of prednisolone and started Flovent for bronchitis. Also he started subQ fluids. Could diet affect GGT, such as high fat content, or fish oil? He ate a small meal right before the blood test. Could these things have caused the spike in GGT? He is acting normally and eating well. Thank you for your time.
Sweetie had asthma attacks some time ago which I mistook for hairballs but I investigated and realized her symptoms matched sthma, I quickly changed her environment and food for possible allergens to see if that would help and it did. But she did have one this month due to someone petting her when they had too much cologne on, I have vet appt soon fo a rescue pump for sound of mind but I do not want her on any steriods due to their effects. If so what steriod inhailer has the least side effects?
My 14y/o fur baby has confirmed CHF. She's on lasix and prednisolone; however, lately is having a harder time breathing than usual and wheezes and coughs alot. My vet has already said current weather conditions make her worse etc. So my question is just until I can get her seen again, would Mucinex DM or an extra dose of steroid help her breath easier?
My dog has collapse traquea and CDF. At time she has respiratory attacks like asthma. At the vet she is put under oxygen and neubulizer treatment. Is injected with meds to open her airways. Have asked my vet the possibility to give her the neubulizer therapy but has never recommended any meds. Is Albuterol a good alternative? Budesonide? Just like to have a home alternative when she gets these atttacks.
Would inhaled steroids cause pancreatitis? Cat coughing in November and started on inhaled steroid but 3 days later got sick with pancreatitis. Have only been using ventolin for fear of a pancreatic flare up. Hasn’t coughed since March, but worried not treating her is causing damage. Not sure what to do. Specialist doesn’t know either. Need 3rd opinion.
breathing like asthma
sneezing and weezing
Cat diagnosed with eosinophilic granuloma allergy testing proved allergies to mites. Currently on atopica, zd,and immunotherapy and pred prn for flare ups. She had her first flare up in 3 months but I don't understand why it randomly flared up. Any other medicine recommended to reduce flare ups. I've read that omegas and canned only food can help. I don't want to keep her on atopica long term.
Hi- I have a 15 year old cat who is being treated for asthma and chronic bronchitis as well as seasonal allergies. She takes prednisolone every 3 days. I have Zyrtec and another vet prescribed antihistimine that makes her sleepy to use as needed. I also have little noses decongestant to use prn, I have an albuterol inhaler with a a special spacer for attacks I use rarely. Tonight she seems sniffy. Sometimes I think the antihistamines give her a cough. What do you recommend I use?
My cat has asthma is there any other remedies besides steroids. I already have taken all household precautions. Thank you
