Dachshunds tend to be snugglers, and also love to be buried (like under a blanket!). I'd look into a dog bed (or even a large cat bed) that has a [clamshell or hooded design](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/harmony-hooded-cave-cat-bed-in-grey) that she can crawl into and be covered up by it. My cat loved to jump and lay on the kitchen countertop,I had to cover the sink to save him from drink soap water,a month ago I built something like desk over it that is easy to jump on and enclose the sink so he can't get in,but in the making process
First make sure it is secured because if it slides around, it will scare him again. Also put a slide proof matt or staple the fabric so he can’t slide off. Put some of his favorite treats up there and show it to him. Then occasionally put them out and let him discover it on his own. This will help build a positive association.
