My kitten has an eye infection and was wondering what I should do. I started suddenly we adopted her from the shelter recently she is about 5 months old.
Most likely Cosmic has an upper respiratory infection that has led to the eye issue. These infections are common in shelter cats. A scratch on the cornea can also lead to signs of infection in the eye. It is best to have Cosmic examined by a veterinarian to determine what is the cause of the eye issue. Left untreated an eye problem can rapidly progress so it's important to have Cosmic checked out soon. There are no safe eye ointments you can get over the counter for cats and he may actually need an oral antibiotic to resolve the issue. The experts here on the forum at Boop by Petco do not work at Petco stores and I don't think anyone would have knowledge of inventory at local stores. I cannot find this particular product on the Petco website. It's possible that it's available at your local store and you could try giving them a call. Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. My top recommendations of veterinary diets include Hill's Science Diet, Purina, and Royal Canin. These are well-known brands that are stocked in veterinary hospitals, and are AAFCO formulated to be balanced and appropriate. I recommend avoiding grain-free, boutique diets from other brands, as these are not regulated and often are do not have balanced nutrients. I hope this is helpful!
