Clonidine is a medication that we do use in dogs for anxiety disorders. The dose of this medication in dogs is about 0.1 mg for dogs that are less then 20 pounds. The dosage that Daisy may have ingested is more than tolerated one and I would strongly suggest to have her checked immediately by your local veterinarian.

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Klonopin (Clonazepam) is a drug that we commonly use for anxiety in animals. Based on the veterinary drug book, the recommended dose for Clonazepam in dogs is 0.1 - 1 mg/kg by mouth every 12-24 hours. So for example, 30lb would equal 13.6kg. So the dose this body weight should receive would be 1.4mg every 12-24 hours as the lowest dose and 13.6mg every 12-24 hours as the highest dose. I always recommend testing out a new medication prior to using it for its intended purpose to see if it works. If this is expired, I would refrain against using this. As always, I would contact your veterinarian, whom you usually see for Olive and discuss using this medication with the vet on the phone as I do not know the full medical history on Olive. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Poor guy. He will need to see your local vet to get the medication (i.e. Fluoxetine, Clomicalm, etc) he needs to have a hopefully stress free and anxiety free time away from you during your leave. I would recommend scheduling an appt with your vet soon. Anything over the counter (Thundershirt, pheromone diffuser) is likely not going to be strong or effective enough to make a difference, especially if he is as anxious as you say he is. Also, it may be better if he is at home in familiar surroundings, than with you in a foreign place. Having a sitter come to the house is probably the best case scenario for him, unless of course you have tried this before to no avail. Best wishes with Germa and I hope you work things out for her. Take care.

Poor girl. Yes anxiety medication can be given and prescribed by your vet. There are no options for this over the counter. I would try Trazodone, which is an anti-anxiety medication that works quickly to calm pets for stressful events like this. Ask your vet if she can be given this, especially if they have seen her recently, prior to her being seen for humane euthanasia. I send all my best and I am sorry that your pet is reaching end of life terms, but it sounds like you are making the best decision for her considering her poor quality of life. Best wishes and take care.

Hello and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Because there is a variety of anti anxiety medications that can be used for noise phobia the cost will vary depending on the medication. It also depends on the size of your dog (because dosage is based on weight). It also depends on how often you are having to administer the medication. To give you a very rough estimate it could probably cost anywhere from $20 to $100 for a month supply of various medication.
