Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. At the high end of the dose range for Benazepril, Maui's dose would be about 13.6mg so she has not had a toxic dose. You may see symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, weakness, etc. If you see these symptoms, I would get her in to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Otherwise, just keep monitoring her for the time being. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Buddy. I have used these medications together in dogs before when necessary. That being said, kidney values, blood pressure and the amount of protein in the urine needs to be closely monitored. I typically will recheck a blood pressure reading within the first week of starting benazapril. Then I will follow up by taking a blood sample several weeks later. Kidney values need followed not only for elevations above normal, but also trends upwards that are still in the normal range. With close monitoring, problems can be identified early and doses or medications can be changed if needed. I hope this information helps!

Ask your veterinarian to write a prescription for the generic form of Buprenex which is buprenorphine. Contact local pharmacies in big stores (WalMart Target, Costco, etc) that may offer more affordable pricing. Other options include Wedgewood Pharmacy ( https://www.wedgewoodpharmacy.com/ ) or Diamondback Drugs ( http://www.diamondbackdrugs.com/ ). These are compounding pharmacies. Discuss other options with your veterinarian. He or she may have a preferred vendor or different options than the ones above.
