Flying can be very stressful, especially when flying with pets. Since Eva is so small she should be able to go in the cabin with you, under the seat. The cabin is pressurized and she will be with you. I always recommend putting a few of her favorite treats in a take off to help with the ear popping. Most of the time the animals fall asleep. More often then not we worry about this and they usually do fine. Thank you for using Boop by Petco and enjoy your trip!

I am very sorry to hear that this has happened to Turbo. I would suggest the following; Turn a bathroom into a steam room by leaving a hot shower in for a few minutes? Then bring into the bathroom (not the shower) Turbo so he can breathe the steamy air and help his airways. place a humidifier in the room that Turbo sleeps in Use a harness instead of a throat collar Www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=33614 Robitussin can be used to help alleviate coughs, here is the caveat: there are many conditions that cause coughing in dogs, and infectious tracheobronchitis and collapsing trachea are only two of them. Dogs should not be given over-the-counter cough suppressants unless serious conditions like pneumonia, heart disease, and lung cancer have been definitively ruled out by your veterinarian. https://www.petcoach.co/article/6-human-medications-that-are-sometimes-safe-for-sick-pets/ I hope this helps and that you two stay safe!

Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. Temaril is a combination product of a steroid (suppresses the immune system, is an anti-inflammatory), as well as an anti-histamine (counters the histamine affect that is produced by allergies). Another possibility (less likely given the breed/age of Zeek) is a collapsing trachea (weak airway) where the steroid helped with the inflammation. The fact that Zeek responded to this medication, and it has come back when off it, is suggestive that there is either an allergy that is present that requires longer treatment, or small airway disease where the anti-inflammatory effect helped open up the airways. I recommend discussing with your vet if they feel this is seasonal allergies, and if so discusss a medication you can use longer term through the season (discuss Apoquel), as steroids long term can be hard on the body. Best of luck with Zeek!

You can ask for a chest x-ray to see what Moka's heart and lungs look like, as well as a geriatric blood panel and urinalysis. These would be good tests to start with and further tests can be done as needed. I hope this helps!

A dry throat can be helped by running a humidifier and an air purifier with a HEPA filter to help remove particulates that are found in all homes. An omega 3 fatty acid supplement for pets can also help to better condition the throat. Feed a high quality dog food like Royal Canin or Nutro as well since they are aimed at skin health. Also, make sure a veterinarian agrees that her cough is caused by a dry throat because at her age, other health concerns become more worrisome. I hope this helps.
