I assumed this food was safe because it is sold at pet stores, but it contains harmful red dye 40, which I believe contributed to my young parakeet's death.

Our Blue and Gold Macaw hates the Grapes. Our Parrotlets would starve rather than eat a banana.

So I realize this is a bit different but my male eclectus loves this size pellet. It’s always the first thing he eats from his dish.

Perfect size for my parakeet -- was advised to make the change from seeds to pellets, per my vet. The pellet size for parakeets would have definitely been too big, so glad I went a size below.

Yes, I recommend this product.

They smell rancid. I wanted the small pieces to use a feeder. I'm going to call and return them.

Is the Zupreem for extra small birds (the one with a canary on the front) suitable for a parakeet? I'm currently feeding my parakeet the small size (with a parakeet on the front) but I think he would prefer a smaller size.

are there any non-colored pellets the same size for canaries and finches? I want to mix both together like a pellet mix

    1. Unfortunately , Zupreem doesn’t have any non-colored pellets this size but you can buy a non-colored pellet and blend up all of the pellets, store them blended and mix it in with the rest of their food. I believe there’s more recent research about the smaller birds (finches, budgies etc) not doing well on all pellet diet because of their kidneys, so mixing the pellets in with seeds might be better.

    Food freshness

    1. Don't shop E-bay for products with a shelf life. I have never gotten old food from Foster & Smith.
