I want to crate train my 1 year old dog. I bought a "medium" crate for her , shes 25 lbs - aussie/dashund mix so shes kind of long shaped. The measurments on the box are for a dog even taller/wider than mine... but the crate doesnt really seem big enough for her to turn around in (unless she kind of squirmed up into a circle). Do you think I need to buy a larger crate? Why does the size on the box say its good for the dog's size.. / ?
What size crate should I purchase for an adult German Shepherd I am planning to adopt?
We are desperate for help with crating Woody. From 4 am on he whines and cries. We give him a VetriScience Composure Behavioral Health snack before bed, and give him plenty of toys (right away and when he starts whining). We even got a larger crate for him (30 inches), and cover it so it's den like. Is there anything stronger that will keep him sleeping longer? What can we do to help him ease into crating? We are ready to give up on crating/put him in another room :(
I purchased a dog house for my German Shepard 3 yrs old and he won't go in it, he is about 65-70 lbs and I purchased the extra lg igloo
Any tips about crate intolerance? I would like to have my dog crate trained because he poops when I leave even though he is potty-trained. Also I feel like a safe space would be good for him as he also has separation anxiety.
I adopted a medium mixed dog yesterday. He was neutered the day before. The humane society's record showed he was crate trained. He barks almost constantly when in his crate, except the first few minutes when he's working on his peanut butter Kong. I walk him before crating and he urinates and sometimes has a BM during the walk. If I can't get this addressed, I may have to return him. Please help!
So my dog keeps peeing in her kennel. I have started making more frequent potty breaks and that has helped some. But she still has accidents about twice a week. So I have thought about getting her a smaller kennel. She is in a 42’’ wire kennel. She can lay in a ball in the corner of it and not take up much room. She is too tall for a smaller kennel. What should I do? Also she had had all her bloodwork done and nothing is wrong. She is 30’’ tall and 30’’ long.
1.5 year old, newly rescued, poodle mix is house and crate trained &all the good stuff. He is very well behaved & has absolutely no potty or chewing accidents. We are unsure if we should crate him or let him roam free considering the above. He cries/ stays anxious for the first hour of being left alone either way. We hate to crate him since he behaves but is this the best thing since when he isn't crated he runs crazy the first hour from anxiety? (alt option: mud room w/ a dog door to outside)
I'm having trouble trying to find the proper enclosure for my dog. She seems to be having separation anxiety and she already destroyed a part of my door after only being alone for 2 hours. I'm gone for work for about 9 hrs a day so I don't want something where she wouldn't be able to move comfortably..what should I do?
Need help for potty training. Tips and any advice. He uses the bathroom in his crate even though its only big enough for him to sit down, turn around, and lay down. He will lay in it without heditation
My dog has very serious separation anxiety when left alone in her crate. I am worried that she will escape and/or hurt herself. So far she has peed in, pooped in, slobbered in, and destroyed one of her crates already. She is a very strong 5 1/2 month old puppy that weighs 45-50lbs. What should I do to crate train her?
Can I crate my dog for 8 hours while I am at work?
