I want to crate train my 1 year old dog. I bought a "medium" crate for her , shes 25 lbs - aussie/dashund mix so shes kind of long shaped. The measurments on the box are for a dog even taller/wider than mine... but the crate doesnt really seem big enough for her to turn around in (unless she kind of squirmed up into a circle). Do you think I need to buy a larger crate? Why does the size on the box say its good for the dog's size.. / ?
I saw many breeders using sawdust or wood mulch for whelping box bedding is it good?
My chihuahua had her first litter, 5 puppies! She is fine in whelping box during the day but at night she keeps putting her po puppies in bed with me. I put them back and wake up to them behind my legs again. What do I do?
Since i atarted to put the 27 old day puppies out the box to eat then return them 4 or 5 of them started to yeal and cry every day and stand on the box’s wall trying to get out this is normal?? And i wanted to know how i can clean puppies at this age can i use wipes that we use for newborn human baby?
What size crate should I purchase for an adult German Shepherd I am planning to adopt?
Hi, it is the middle of the night, my great pyrenees is wanting to move her 3 week old puppies from inside the house to her dog house outside. It's 29 degrees. She is taking one at a time, feeding it for about 30 minutes, then going to get another. 4/10 are now outside with her. I was rescuing them when she walked away to get another but I just put them all back out with her. Should I force her in? When I locked her in she just kept one in her mouth, walking around with it everywhere
When i start moving the puppis out of the box they are always crying to go out so i put them out for couple of minutes then i get them back in it they are 27 days old.
My husky gave birth in a sand hole even though I had prepared a whelping box for her. Is this ok or should I move them? If so, when is appropriate? Also, how do I prevent her from accidentally smothering her puppies when she lays down? TIA
My 1 year old dog had puppies on March 24 and it's supposed to get down to 30°F tonight I was wondering if I need to bring the puppies inside I made sure their dog house was warm.
I can’t put the rails inside the whelphing box is there is a problem? Should i make rails inside the box is it a must?
So my dog keeps peeing in her kennel. I have started making more frequent potty breaks and that has helped some. But she still has accidents about twice a week. So I have thought about getting her a smaller kennel. She is in a 42’’ wire kennel. She can lay in a ball in the corner of it and not take up much room. She is too tall for a smaller kennel. What should I do? Also she had had all her bloodwork done and nothing is wrong. She is 30’’ tall and 30’’ long.
My bitch is 60 days along. Her temp is 98.4. She’s staying in here whelping box otherthan going potty. No panting or heavy breathing. She is licking a lot and has very little clear discharge. Is she going into? labor how soon should I expect puppies?
