do you need a certain pump for the python
- Looks like you're asking this in reference to the Python No Spill Clean 'N Fill Replacement Gravel Tube. If so, this item is only a replacement for the tube that comes with a complete Python No Spill System. The System itself comes with a "pump" that attaches to your faucet and pulls water from your aquarium when the faucet is turned on. They system works great if you have the right faucet to fit the faucet pump.

My tank water level is 70cm. Which size you recommend?
- Go with the one that is 70cm in length or closest to it. Little larger would be better.

Does the length include the hose or is it just the gravel tube that is 24 inches long?
- The length is the tube. The hose will be at least a few feet long

Are there any smaller diameter tubes available? I have a heavily planted tank and that larger diameter will make it difficult to get in and around the plants
Can this be used on sand without sucking it up? and if not what siphon is good with sand?
- Yes. I use these at work, (I work aquatics at petco) and use it in my own wanks, both for work and I have one at home. I am able to clean my sand tank just fine. If you skim lightly over the top, it will collect what has settled on it. The nice thing with sand is that the junk doesn't really get buried much in there. You just pass over it without digging in as you would with gravel. Hope this helps!
