For the hobbyist looking for a very active, hardy, and brightly colored fish, Purple Firefish are an excellent addition to aquariums due to their small adult size and a lot of personality. These reef safe fish are very skittish, and shouldn't be housed with aggressive species, or they will hide. They are known to jump when startled, so be sure to house them in a covered aquarium. This 2" fish will make a great addition to smaller aquariums down to 30 gallons or so. They can be territorial to other dartfish and bottom dwellers, so use caution if adding more than one, unless it is a very large aquarium. They will pick at algae within the aquarium, but require a mix of meaty foods, and they will generally will accept pelletized food after a few days. They have a colorful body of yellowish white and different hues of purple, and their fins have a deep red that really helps them stand out. Purple Firefish are found in the waters of the Indo-Pacific hovering over the substrate of reefs.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email. We ship for arrival to the customer Tuesday through Friday and Saturday for an extra charge where available.

How to increase colour deep red and yellow citation of red blood parrot fish and yellow parrot fish ? And how far shyness of red blood parrot fish ?
What type of saltwater fish can I have in a 10 gallon tank
My goldfish has red spots/rashes on his body and fins. What could this mean?
My fish has bulges on both sides. They have been there for months. The fish spent months fighting the other glofish in the aquarium. The water is tested, changed about every 3-4 weeks. Water change is 50%. I also change the filter 3-4 weeks. I feed flakes, dried blood worms, and frozen assortment of food.
My goldfish is covered in red splotches and has two large white fuzzy bulbs on the top of its head. Also there appears to be long stringy things attached to its body. My fish does not swim to the top of the tank when fed, eats less, and is lethargic. My fish also has difficulty swimming because he floats to the top of the tank. It has had the red splotches before and I’ve treated it with antibacterial/fungal drops and the splotches cleared up.
what kind of fish are these? and would they be good with a male betta
Which category male flower fish add with couple of yellow blood parrot fish(male and female both are) in a (42L×7w×18h)inch water tank ? Can u guide to me this successful breeding process ? In a currently I have only two yellow parrot fish.
My gold fish is orange and it has multiple tiny white balls growing on two different parts of my fish. What can it be? How will this effect the other fish? Is it contagious?

I have a Siamese fighting fish with Popeye how do I treat It?
My goldfish has red spots on it. Is it a bacterial infection or a fungal infection and what can I use to treat him ?
My betta is a baby boy (4monthold) When I first got him he was red with white. 2 months ago his growing fins began becoming blue. Abt 3 weeks ago I see that he began losing his color a bit& began becoming kind of transparent, so I took the water to get checked& the water was good but the store couldnt check for ammonia cause they had ran out of that test(water has conditioner). Last night I notice that he started getting a shiny silver color on 1side of mouth& in gill. But he is acting normal
