The spay idea is a great one,however the unit is cheaply made and loses the power to squirt rapidly. Great idea, poorly manufactured product.

My dog barked four times and the cartridge is EMPTY! This is absolutely NOT acceptable.

We have used this spray with all of our goldens. I must admit it doesn’t work as well with George Bailey as it did on Lady Emma and Clarence. Usually one or two times was enough to stop the unwanted behavior, but GB apparently loves the smell of citronella. I use the tone as a warning before the spray if citronella.

My dog definitely responded positively to the citronella spray but each cartridge lasted only 1-2 days. Not enough time to adequately train.

I have a sensitive dog and I knew a shock collar would be too much. I got the spray collar and it is very effective. I have a stubborn barker so in the beginning I had to go through a lot of refills. As a bonus the citronella helps keep away bugs from my fur baby.

It definitely has helped stop her barking. However, it ran out after no more than ten activations.

We just bought an "updated" spray collar w/ remote last week. Our old one quit working a long time ago but now we have a new 2 year-old rescue girl who LOVES barking. I do not believe shock collars should be used for any reason but I have found spray deterrents to work well in the past as an aid in training. Anyway, the cartridges for our old collar would easily provide 200-300 sprays. This new collar gave us 8 or 9 sprays with the included cartridge. Yes, that is all. We thought maybe the collar came with some little 'tester' cartridge that wasn't meant to last. That upset us in the first place since the new collar cost so much. We bought this 3-pack thinking these cartridges would be like our old ones and give us the 200+ sprays per cartridge. Wrong again. Our rescue pup is a super sweet girl and the collar we have doesn't have an 'auto' function - we have to manually press the remote to "spray her" to discourage her barking. I mention her sweetness so people don't think she is a guard dog barking all day and night or the collar is an automatic collar going off every 2 minutes. To recap, the cartridge that came with the collar didn't last at all. The replacement cartridge we put in didn't seem to last long either but neither my wife or I counted so couldn't be sure how many sprays we got. We estimated 15 sprays (her: 4-5 sprays / me: 10) but wanted to be sure. As such, I replaced the empty replacement cartridge with a THIRD ONE THIS WEEK. I put it in early yesterday and counted carefully. My wife has been working so it was just me with our girl and I only got 12 sprays before I put her collar back on before going outside again tonight, turned it on and it beeped at me that it was empty. I tried spraying to see if anything came out and nothing. I tried powering off and on again and the same thing over & over -- cartridge empty signal. Grrrrr!! We will be returning the collar (and hopefully the empty overpriced cartridges that we purchased) because at this rate, it is a hugely wasteful product. I hope this has been helpful. The initial cartridge lasted a day, second cartridge lasted the same. I’m on the 3rd cartridge and I only had 5 to begin with! It does work, dogs are quite but it certainly does NOT have 30-35 sprays in the cartridge. Maybe 5-7 sprays. I leave it on when it shows orange, that it’s empty, and just knowing that it could spray, keeps them quiet. So it’s working, but once they realize that they can bark and not get sprayed, they’ll bark. So I’ll need to replace the cartridge.
