Excellent gate if you are forced to slightly angle the installation in the door frame. Good choice of a gate if you need to frequently pass thru easy to open and close. Good match for keeping two Bernese Mountain dogs sequestered without worrying that they would bust out. Packaging gets only two stars.

We really like our Cardinal Black gate. we have it at the entry to our hallway so our Golden Retriever puppy does not go down the hall and help himself to items from the bedrooms! There were 2 screws missing so my husband had to go to Ace Hardware and get them. (I didn't want to wait for company to send them as I'm sure they would have.) It is very sturdy and the latch is all metal and works smoothly. I can't imagine it breaking like some gates with plastic latches have mentioned. There is a little child safety latch at the top that you have to swing up before unlatching door. since we don't have children, we just taped it up since we saw no way to remove it before hanging gate. Wish we could have had an option to remove it. (I used black electrical tape and you can't see the tape at all. who knows, maybe someday I'll have grandkids and will be glad for the safety latch.) I like that it swings all the way open against the wall if needed. I like the black color because it just kind of "disappears" in your vision and doesn't look real obvious. Since it's all metal I feel it looks more upscale as well. We attached it 6" up so our cats can go under it but dog can't. Perfect for everyone!
