what is the width between slats? Need it to keep a cat out
- 1 and 1/2 inches between the slats. We love the gate; so simple to assemble and nicely constructed.

What is max length. Does expandable rods come or are they separate??
- The 4-Panel Freestanding Pet Gate comes as the 4 panels and 4 feet. Extensions are available and the extension is identical to one of the panels. I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean by expandable rods. Please feel free to contact the manufacturer if you want. 800-318-3380.

we have a 20 pound rat terrier mix in excellent health, not overweight. She is 11 yrs old and we were trying to fin d a carrier like a backpack to put her in for our long walks, when she gets tired. There are so many to choose from. I like the ones that we strap on the front of the human, and her legs stick out at the top and bottom just like a real baby. However I am concerned that the position might put too much pressure on her back end. What can you recommend?

We're considering a dog for adoption; likely basset-beagle mix (foster maybe some terrier). We have three staircases in our 4-floor townhouse. Concerned that stairs would be bad for his back if he shares that problem with Basset hounds. Will my ShiChon who is 15 long and 11 high fit in a airline soft sided carrier that is 17x11x11? Will she be comfortable as well? I’ve attached a picture of her in it. She climbed in herself.
