Thanks for your question about Wesley, and great job on picking up on these changes on his skin. From the photos, I am seeing some yellow like material near the surface of the skin as well as some white flakes. These could be due to an ectoparasite, such as mites, or it could be environmental. Due to the potential for an external parasite, I would recommend having him evaluated by a veterinarian in your area. This would allow them to take samples from the skin's surface and hairs to look at them under the microscope. Depending on what they find, they may prescribe a medication for parasites, or may provide some husbandry change suggestions. I hope this helps to answer your question, and good luck to you and Wesley!

Tapeworm segments are white and they are often seen on fresh poop. Also sometimes on the fur around his anus. They are caused by eating a flea when chewing on the skin, or eating a mouse or rodent. You can purchase tapeworm medication from PetCo, or your veterinarian. Make sure you treat him with a flea prevention product so he doesn’t get infected with tapeworms again. Tapeworms can’t be spread to people or other animals directly so you only need to treat him. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for your dog.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is hard to know for sure but this is likely a normal pigmentation change. If it is not associated with itchiness or discomfort, there is no need to be concerned about this. If you ever notice any discomfort or itchiness, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a great day!

Nikki is adorable! Thank you so much for posting pictures. You posted about a number of concerns, so hopefully I can address all of them. As far as her teeth go, it is always recommended to have a full dental cleaning under anesthesia to resolve any underlying problems and pain, then follow up with something like a water additive to decrease additional dental calculus from forming. My favorite dental product is PetSmile, but it does need to be applied to the teeth. https://petsmileusa.com There has been a lot of evidence that increasing the amount of Omega 3 fatty acids in the diet can make a big difference for inflammation and itching. Since a diet change and adding Omega 3 fatty acids to the diet can both cause loose stool, I normally only recommend that clients make one change to a diet at a time (which includes supplements). Both Acana and Wellness make a wonderful fish based diet, so I do not have a preference between the 2 of those. Make sure you do a gradual diet change ov

Yes, I would temporarily remove her wheel. You can also try using this spray on her lesions. If no improvement in a week or so you should have a vet check her as this could be ringworm or skin mites. https://vetericyn.com/product/vetericyn-plus-all-animal-wound-and-skin-care/
