It is best to provide Ava with a few different types of perches. They should range in diameter. Natural perches are best, as they provide varying shapes which is best for your bird’s feet. A pedicure perch is also recommended (ie: "sweet feet" perch) which is a textured perch that helps keep toenails trimmed and smooth, as well as the bird’s beak. You can find a plethora of perches on Amazon. ( https://www.amazon.com/natural-perches-Parakeets/s?k=natural+perches+for+Parakeets )

Good conditions for mating are usually what spur breeding in captive birds. This includes a place to build a nest and lay eggs, a balanced diet suitable for rearing chicks and producing healthy eggs, extra calcium for egg production and a mate willing to pair and create babies. If you are attempting to breed your conures, making sure to read up on breeding and rearing of parrots is a good idea as you may have to provide extra care such as egg incubation and baby-rearing if the parents are unable to do it themselves. Hand-taming is another good thing to research to help raise babies that are comfortable being handled by and around people.

A commercial pelleted diet is balanced, healthy and convenient. They can be found in most pet stores or online. Quality brands include Harrison's, Roudybush, Lafeber and Pretty Bird. You can supplement the diet with a small amount of a fortified seed mix, fresh greens and vegetables, cooked grains/beans/pastas and plain rice. Budgies and other birds also enjoy some scrambled egg occasionally.

Thanks for reaching out about Rico. Try training to approach the cage, giving a reward, and setting down near the cage. Then go another step, work it slowly. Its all works around trust. Birds are generally grumpy during molting, so attitude might change when molting complete. Good luck.

It looks normal but it is hard to tell 100% from this photo. I recommend you refer to this link/article: ( https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/birds-abnormal-droppings ) If you are worried you can always have your vet do a fecal test/gram stain. The biggest way to keep your bird healthy is to feed the appropriate diet. I strongly suggest Lafeber diets. I don't know what you are feeding but many people default to seeds but that is not a good diet. ( https://lafeber.com/ ) Hope this helps. Best wishes.
