Here is a website with information on EPI. If your dog has the disease than he would need to have digestive enzyme replacement, like Viokase-V. He may also need an antibiotic, metronidazole, and vit B12 injections. Adding a probiotic to his diet may help, too. Without having a vet to diagnose and treat the disease will make it hard to manage. http://www.allshepherdrescue.com/info/display?PageID=9888

I have not personally used or prescribed Pro-Bind, but it looks similar to a product I use commonly in pancreatitis patients with diarrhea called Pro-Pectalin. Generally, we avoid fats in dogs with pancreatitis. If you are simply wanting a pre/probiotic product, powders will contain less fats and should be appropriate to use.

I wouldn’t have concerns about giving the Vetri-Science supplement along with enalapril and pimobendan, but it would be a good idea to check in with your vet first, particularly to see if a potassium has been checked recently. I am not familiar with the other supplement but do recommend the Vetri-Science. There is some evidence that a restricted protein diet can help with proteinuria so this may be worth discussing with your vet as well.

Hello and thank you for your post! I am sorry to hear that Aprile is not feeling well. With the Cushing's medication, this can cause the reverse disease called Addison's disease. The Cushing's medication will decrease the steroids in the body. Sometimes this medication can decrease the steroids too much and lead to an addisonian crisis. If your vet has not checked blood work to see what the electrolytes and the rest of the blood work looks like I would certainly want to see what the CBC and chemistry look like. If your vet has examined her and deems that steroids are necessary due to the examination and clinical appearance then a dose of steroids is probably okay to administer with the suspicion that the Cushing's medication has decreased the natural steroids in the body too much. Famotidine is just Pepcid AC, so it is absolutely safe to give. If the pancreatitis is very bad, then I would suggest keeping her in the hospital on supportive care until she's feeling better. I hope this hel
