Hi, our nearly 13 yo cat got diagnosed with pancreatitis earlier this year. He was doing well on veraflox for 5 weeks. He's been for 3 ultrasounds so far and his condition appears to be improving though the pancreatic duct was dilated and remains so. Today he stopped eating again so he's going back on famotidine and veraflox and he's scheduled for followup in early April. Do such cases usually resolve? How long should we expect he'll need antibiotics? Would be nice to get him over it for good.
My cat was recently diagnosed with a lower urinary tract infection and crystals. He was prescribed veraflox and the vet recommended I switch his food to Royal Canin urinary SO. I have no problem buying the food, but it’s very expensive for the small amount of food. Is there another brand of food that I can use that will do the same thing? Or is there a better food then Royal Canin? I just want the best for my boy.
Hello, Can you please tell us if the antibiotic "Veraflox" is toxic to a cat with mild kidney disiase? Our 16 year old cat "Tigger" was on it for 5 weeks for e coli. The e coli was cured. A week later she had some diarrhea and received it again for 5 days. She quickly went downhill. She also had inflammatory bowel disease. Drastic weight loss, dehydration and did not eat for t3 days. We were forced to put her to sleep. We feel the drug pushed her off the edge. What is your opinion?
i recently got enrofloxacin from a company other than baytril. the 200ml bottle of 5% was for a third of the price and i got it, as i could NOT get baytril where i live this time. now upon opening the bottle the strongest smell of vinegar hit me. the liquid was not thick like baytril but much lighter and this has got me really worried. i had manged to get baytril the first time and it smelled way different, this smells like it is pure vinegar and some alcohol. oral, expiry date in 2020. is it ok
Is meropenem an effective therapy to dog?
my dog has an UTI and was given enrofloxacin 135 mg. she weighs 31 #'s and I am to give her 2 tabs every 24 hrs....I don't think this is the right dose..can you check for me?
Hello! My vet prescribed Efex (marbofloxacin) for one of our cats experiencing issues with balance, after diagnosing the problem as otitis interna. However, the duration of treatment is 42 days, and I read that fluoroquinolones should not be given to cats for long periods because it can cause blindness. Now I'm worried and, thus, writing to you to ask for a second opinion. Should I worry? Aren't there any safer antibiotics to give long term that I can discuss with the vet? Thanks!
can I give my dog vigamox and how much do I give her?
can I give my 5 month old puppy augmentin 875mg tabs or bactrim if I think she has parvo it is my percriorion
My 21 lb dog was prescribed enrofloxacin. 68mg once every 12 hours. Is that the correct dosage? Its giving her diarrhea. She was also prescribed 2.5 mg of terbutaline and her heart is beating really hard and fast.
