First of all, Daisee and Zimba are beautiful cats! Different cats can develop a hierarchy among themselves and some more passive cats can become more and more withdrawn. Anxiety can also develop in either or both cats, leading to some of these changes. Some cats benefit from calming pheromone collars or diffusers (Feliway is one example) to help ease any anxiety. You can also consider having a specified time each day where Zimba needs to be confined to a different room so that you can have some bonding time with Daisee. It is also worth consulting a veterinary behaviorist who will be able to evaluate their behavior in your home and determine if any other behavioral modifications or medications are necessary. 17 yr, 11.8 lb, cat has kidney dysfnct. On 1/24 she showed symptoms of inner ear prob or vestibular. My vet prescribed Cerenia but it can only be given 1x in 24 hrs and it wears off at about 12 hrs. So, vet added half a tab of meclizine to her regime
Cerenia and meclizine have different mechanisms of action so it should not be a problem. If symptoms do not improve or worsen, you may want to discuss diagnostics and referral for disease in the brain.

Hello! My cat always gets so nervous when going to the vet, and either wets himself, does no. 2 or throws up. I know it's because he's scared and hyperventilating, but is there something I can do to calm his nerves and prevent this from happening? T
I am so sorry to hear that Felix gets so stressed! There are several things we can do for nervous cats. A pheremone spray in the cat carrier such as Feliway https://www.feliway.com/us/Products/FELIWAY-CLASSIC-Spray . A calming supplement such as Zylkene https://www.vetoquinolusa.com/content/zylkene can also help. If your cat has a vet, we now often prescribe a medication called Gabapentin for cats who are nervous for owners to give them before they come in to give them a much less stressful experience!

My cat was vomiting today. He would meow in distress before doing so and when he vomited it wasn't a large amount and it had a foul odor. He did this 4 times before I took him to the vet. The vet gave him a shot to control vomiting for next 24 hours.
I am guessing the injection given was Cerenia. Side effects are uncommon with the use of this medication, but the most commonly noted side effects were: drooling, drowsiness, diarrhea, and appetite loss. I would be worried and I think he needs to get back to the vet. Were any x-rays or blood testing done? If not, that needs to be done to figure out what is going on. This sounds like it could be something more serious going on. If it was just a simple upset stomach he should be feeling MUCH better after that injection and not sleeping for 10 hours. I would be worried.

My 15 year old male cat has been vomiting & regurgitating on & off for a few weeks now. He also sneezes occasionally & it’s runny & nasty. My daughter felt his abdomen & it feels hard. He doesn’t like to be picked up anymore. His energy level is low
I am sorry Caboo is not feeling well, I would recommend taking him to a vet for a good physical exam and some basic blood work. In the older pets we do get concerned about hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, dental disease and even infection. IT is important for her to have an exam and some testing to help determine the cause of the vomiting and help provide proper treatment. Hope he feels better soon!
