No, I don't recommend it. I don't ever suggest owners take recommendations from people who work in pet shops. They are not vets, they have no veterinary training. Only use supplements recommended by your vet.

This is true! I’ve heard of counterfeit flea medication being sold on websites like Amazon. PetCo will have the real stuff, so it’s safe to buy from them. I do think getting it from the vet is best, as they have the prescription treatments that are the best on the market. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Good question! In general it is best to purchase these medications from your veterinarian. When purchased through a veterinarian the company will most often guarantee the effectiveness. This is usually not the case with products bought online or over the counter. When sold through a veterinarian the company that manufactures the product will stand behind the product and often pay for medical treatment should the product not work for some reason. The veterinarian also knows how to properly store the product so that it does not get damaged or becomes ineffective. Finally, sometimes over the counter products or products sold online can be counterfeit or even dangerous to use. Your veterinarian also knows what particular products tend to be most effective for your location.

If this is allergies, there is more than steroids that can be used for treatment. I would try topical therapies as well. You will need to find a shampoo that is calming and start him on fish oil supplements. The products I recommend are below, but I am unsure if you are able to purchase these in India. You may need to run these by your veterinarian to see if there is anything comparable. There are other products such as Apoquel and Cytopoint that the veterinarian may be able to give to Kannan, you would have to ask about these. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions / concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. 1. Douxo PS Calm shampoo 2. Essential 6 spot on by dermoscent 3. Krillex krill chews

Hi there! For fleas and ticks, the most effective products currently available are Nexgard and Bravecto. These are both beef-flavored soft chews that most dogs like. My dogs are on Bravecto at the moment, which has been working great for them :) You should be able to get these meds from your vet, or order them online with a prescription.
