SmartBones dog treats can be a nutritious rawhide alternative in the form of tasty dog chews that can help keep your dog’s teeth clean and strengthen their jaws. Give your pup a delicious treat they’ll love, and that also aids in preventing them from chewing up the furniture or any other household items.
Alternative rawhide chews can be great for dogs by giving your canine the stimulation of chewing without the potential risk that some actual rawhide products may pose. Rawhide can sometimes be difficult for dogs to digest and may pose a choking hazard, but your pup is in good hands with SmartBones for dogs. Made from vegetables and containing a layer of chicken meat inside, these grain-free dog treats are made to be easily digestible and packed with flavors dogs love. SmartBones are tested for digestibility and made according to Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) protocols to help ensure their quality.
Not only do SmartBones dog chews contain wholesome ingredients, but they are also produced according to the highest standards with the well-being of your pup in mind. All raw materials used in SmartBones dog treats are said to have been inspected in a sterile environment before use. Additionally, hygiene at the plant and manufacturing processes are in adherence with FDA standards. SmartBones are tested by a quality control team before leaving the manufacturing plant to help ensure that your dog can get high-quality products.
If your dog is a picky eater, SmartBones dog treats come in dozens of flavors and varieties—from bones to sticks and twists with flavors like SmartBones peanut butter, ribs and wings. With so many options, SmartBones can be a great choice of tasty dog chews.
SmartBones can be a nutritious option for dogs. They are rawhide-free and made with real chicken and vegetables such as sweet potatoes, carrots and peas. Additionally, SmartBones dog treats are enriched with vitamins and minerals for further possible benefits. Keep in mind, SmartBones for dogs are meant as a special treat, not a meal. If your dog has food sensitivities, consult your veterinarian before introducing a new food.
SmartBones can often be an appropriate choice for dogs of all sizes—even puppies older than 8 weeks old can enjoy them. Although SmartBones are designed to be digestible, it is still advised to keep an eye on your dog while chewing and make sure they have water nearby.

My personal preference is compressed rawhide (not regular rawhide). Pig ears and Nylabones are OK too. Any of these types of treats you give them should only be given supervised. Antlers are not recommended - they are too hard and often break their teeth. Same with cow hooves. https://www.petsupplies.com/dog-supplies/rawhide-bones/pressed-rawhide/9398/

Thank you for submitting your question and congratulations on your first dog! Treats should not comprise more than 10% of the diet. They should be given in small amounts. If you are giving Milk Bones, by the tiny size and only give several a day. Most dogs in this country are overweight. Being strict with his diet from the start with help to prevent this from occurring with him. As far as the best chew, it is based on the individual dog. The chew needs to be something he enjoys, but more importantly something he cannot break pieces off and swallow. This can become a surgery to remove. I hope this information helps!

Zeus can have various types of chews at his age, but you should make sure they are only an occasional treat and always supervise him when he is eating one. If he is biting off large pieces you should take it away - things like this can become lodged in the esophagus.

Hi Diana, I have not yet tried the Nylabone Healthy Edibles with my dogs, but I just looked at the ingredients and think they might be a nice treat for Joey. Certainly, I always recommend monitoring a dog with any edible chew because they will sometimes bite off too large of a chunk, but I suspect that will be less of a problem with the Healthy Edibles than some of the other chew options on the market. If Joey has a problem with allergies, my favorite chews are Honest Kitchen Beams (https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/beams?gclid=Cj0KEQjwmK3OBRDKjN-L55---_UBEiQAOL6t1ONBCfGAKhdZ3BxXNOpy4Q4FLZFPR0lX79hOaIj9CO0aApIM8P8HAQ) and Sam's Yams (sweet potato treats). I hope that was helpful! Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

The best training treats are ones that your dog really loves and that can be broken into very small treats. This is especially important with a small dog like Bella. I have used and really like Wellness Soft Puppy Bites and Fruitables. This article also mentions a couple of other small and soft chews that would work well for Bella. https://www.rover.com/blog/favorite-healthy-dog-training-treats/ Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
