Good question. You are doing a good job keeping her calm. Often closing them in a dark room or crate with the music on will help too. Yes, the calming supplements do help and also the thunder shirt. I use Solliquin in my practice but they do sell several kinds at PetCo. They may not fully resolve the anxiety but they will reduce it without drugs. Hello! For major anxiety inducing events, like fireworks and vet appointments, I recommend getting a prescription anti-anxiety medication. The drug Trazodone is my personal favorite for helping fearful dogs. It's an SSRI, so it works just like an anti-depressant. I give it to my dog about 45 minutes before the fireworks start, and it really helps him cope with the loud noises. You can also put cotton balls in Oso's ears, if he lets you. Most of the fearful dogs will appreciated the muted sounds. Just don't remember to take them out later! I hope this is helpful! Thanks for using Boop by Petco!

I usually start with the natural supplement Solliquin. It is effective for anxiety and I’ve never seen side effects. There are similar products sold also at PetCo. Taking your dog to a traing class with other dogs can often help them learn proper behavior, and will build their confidence which will decrease the anxiety. If needed your veterinarian can prescribe medication. There are several good ones and the one they would choose depends on your dogs behavior, and medical condition. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for Token.

Try Zesty Paws Calming Bites, Composure chews (VetriScience) or Zylkene (Vetoquinol). Be aware that not all products will work for all dogs. The trick is to find the one that works the best. If Maggy's anxiety is severe, she may need prescription medication. Discuss options with your veterinarian.
