I would recommend starting by reading through this website for ideas for additional enrichment: https://indoorpet.osu.edu/cats . My first guess is that she's bored and wants some attention in the evenings. Getting another cat is a bit risky - it could be great, or Sassy could absolutely hate the newcomer leading to a whole need set of problems.

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear about Sassy's naughty antics. Try a "no-chew" spray that contains bitter apple (eg. NaturVet Bitter Yuck No Chew Spray). These types of things are available online or at PetCo. Hope this helps!

It could be a behavior issue but because of her age you must rule out a medical issue such as hyperthyroidism for example, that can cause this symptom as well. take Sassy to the vet in order to have a blood test, if it is hyperthyroidism it can be treated with medications.

It's great that you want to be prepared for your new kitten! Aside from the obvious things for the kitten like food and water bowls, I'd recommend a tall scratching post and perch. Two litter boxes in different areas of the house are recommended. Canned kitten food (and canned adult cat food as Myla gets older) is preferred over dry food. Miss Sassy may be suffering from Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome, or in other words, be a bit senile. This causes her to all of a sudden not knowing where she is , feeling all alone or left behind. You can leave on a radio over night or a light or both and this may help. If not , there are medications that can be given such as selegiline (Anipryl, off license for cats) which will help . Here is some good information: https://www2.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/cognitive-dysfunction You may want to discuss this with your vet.
