Thanks for reaching out. A human being is a huge animal coming towards them and appears scary. Try starting with offered treats, calm slow movement. A book titled "A Guide to a Well Behaved Parrot" is a good reference. Good luck

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Dogs are thankfully all about treats and affection. I would recommend that you consider having your mom give him treats and as much affection as possible. Usually with treats he will most likely get to like her company more and more. This will likely help. Good luck!

Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. It is hard to know why an animal suddenly changes their behaviour. He could just be showing affection to you, as it sounds like he is aware of his behaviour. Sometimes behavioral changes can be due to tumors in the brain, however these are more associated with pacing, panting, staring at all, circling, and other 'non-nonsensical' behaviours. If there has been a change in the house, (for example: a new baby or animal or person, renovations, etc.) then he could be responding to this. I would recommend a visit to the vet for a thorough check-up, and maybe some general bloodwork just to make sure there isn't anything medical going on. If that is all clear, then he is likely just showing you love. Best of luck with Bobby!

"Think Like a Cat" by Pam Johnson-Bennett is a great book on cat behavior; this author also has a couple of other books ("Catwise" and "Cat Vs. Cat") which are also great. "The Trainable Cat" by John Bradshaw and Sarah Ellis is another good resource, with lots of specific info on teaching your cat to do things in a positive way. I hope that helps a bit! :)

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Dogs and cats definitely grieve for other animals. If any of Luna's behaviors are concerning or are not resolving with time, I have had luck with a Bach Flower Essence called Rescue Remedy or a custom compounded blend for grief. http://www.bachflower.com/rescue-remedy-pet/ I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.
