Can I mix dog food of 2 different brands and pour gravy food over it,the brands I am mixing are Arden Grange,fiddle and drools?

I was curious as to what is the best inexpensive brands for flea and tick treatments. We used to use Hartz, but I've been seeing a lot of horror stories surfacing the net about how people have been losing their pets due to something used in this brand. Hi! My yorkie, Marley, developed a limp on his back right leg. It looks like his paw is swollen and he won't put any pressure on it. I have carefully looked at his paw and between his nails and can't seem to see or find any thing that stands out. In comparison to his other paw, when viewing from above, his paw is swollen, especially around his nails. It doesn't look like anything is wrong with his paw pads, but I'm not confident. Any assistance for my baby is greatly appreciated!
