I do not know where this information comes from but cats will just lose interest if they get frustrated. Even got cats it is not always about actually catching something for food, but they enjoy the hunt as such. Do offer your "pointer" kitty a crumpled little paper ball as a toy once in a while...most playful cats love these as they make an interesting noise, can be picked up, carried around, thrown up in the air and chased. Never mind what the internet or other people say, hour kitty will tell you what it likes and what not and no, there won,'t be anxiety.

Some cats are happy with companionship and aren't interested in play. I’ve had luck with using a laser pointer to see if he’ll chase it. You can also try putting treats on a cat tree to get him to climb up and be active. You can also train cats to come when called, beg, sit, shake etc just like a dog. This is done with treats and praise as rewards and takes lots of time. The training should be fun for you both and is good bonding and quality time together. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for your cat.

There are plastic toys that are long/string like that may be a little more robust for Chevy to play with. Laser pointers may also simulate something on a string that he can safely chase. If he does like things with string on them, I would just make sure to monitor him while playing to ensure he doesn't eat any string and so you can discard the toy if he chews a piece off.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Cats have the life don't they! I would try a laser pointer, toy that is along stick with a feather on the end and when you give him treats throw them so he has to chase them. Cats do normally sleep a lot. Check out the link below on environmental enrichment for indoor cats. Good luck! https://www.catbehaviorassociates.com/what-is-environmental-enrichment-and-why-does-your-cat-need-it/ https://indoorpet.osu.edu/cats
