Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Diarrhea can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Lucy evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may choose to check for parasites and to start medications for diarrhea depending on the results. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Mucus generally means inflammation and this can come from parasites (like worms and giardia), a diet not right for Lucy's body or bacterial over growth. A bland diet for 3 days can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. A probiotic may also be beneficial. I recommend Purina FortiFlora if you can find it. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible. Lastly, if the mucus continues after 2 weeks, have Lucy checked for worms and giardia by her veterinarian. I hope this helps.

I would recommend crate training Lucy. You must choose a crate that your puppy can stand up, sit down and turn around. Getting a crate bigger then this can lead your puppy to urinate or defecate on one side of the crate while sleeping on the other side. If you have a dog that will be big as a full-size dog then you can buy a crate that will be big enough for when they are older but use a divider to make the crate temporarily smaller. A crate should only create a positive environment. Never use the crate for punishment. Despite what many people think do not line the crate with blankets or beds. The reason is your puppy can urinate on the blankets and beds which can soak up the urine and they can bury the stool. Keeping the puppy in the crate when you cannot keep 100% eye on him is important. Every time you take him out of the crate take him on a walk to make sure they go to the bathroom and give positive reinforcement if he does. If they do not eliminate while you are outside

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! You have a few options here. You could get a muzzle to avoid getting bit. You could consider bathing him which will make the lump of feces more manageable when is wet. Also, you could consider using an e-collar so that it is difficult for him to get around you to potentially bite. Good luck!

Hello, thank you for your question about Lucy. Based on the photos that you've attached I would not be overly concerned by this. Depending on your dogs diet, treats, etc they can change the color of the feces as the nutrients digest. If at any point Lucy develops diarrhea, lethargy, or vomiting I would recommend having her seen by your veterinarian. Hope this helps!
