Hi my dog is on Levetiracetam 1 1/5 250mg tablet daily plus Epilease 1 1/5 tablet daily and since Friday night he started Epirepress 60mg 1 a day ( morning half tablet and half at night ) but since starting the new tablet Epirepress he has become very unstable on his back legs , falling a lot while trying to walk around. Can you tell me why this is and if he can have something to help him . Thanks
My 13 year, 24.4kg mix breed dog has a brain tumour. She is on 30 mg phenobarbitone twice daily (as well as 500mg levetiracetam 3x daily) to control her seizures as well as a few other medicines. I just fed her her dinner and meds and am having a melt down as i can’t remember whether I gave her the phenobarbitone. Is it better I miss a dose or to give her one but risk double dosing? Thank you for your help.
Toby is 8 yrs old. Poodle/Pekingese. 20 lbs. Has had seizures every since very young. He takes Phenabarbitol and Levetiracetam morning and night. Never had fleas, put on Frontline this year. He has started licking , scratching ALL NIGHT. Day he does some but nights are terrible. I bathed in Oatmeal shampoo and was using Coconut oil and still do some. He will not eat much dog food...it is chicken breast or ground turkey. I have stayed up all night with him for a month Need help!
Dog is having cluster seizures,he takes phenoleptil,libromide and levitraceum but they dont seem to be controlling them.
Is Xyzal (levocetirizine) safe for dogs with allergies?
Is there anything cheaper than potassium bromide? My 15 month Papillon is on that and Keppra. Non of which seems to be working as she has cluster seizures every day. Keppra 125 mg x2 and 0.4ml bromide. The bromide costs £131 for four weeks! The bottle holds 250 ml so most of it has to be thrown away. She was on epiphen but has had to come off it because of her liver.
My cat is taking Levetiracetum XR every twelve hours (twice a day) as per the prescription as an anti seizure medication. We give her the medicine around 5:30. today we lost track of time and she didn’t get it until 6:15. Should we be concerned about seizures occurring due to getting her medicine late? And is it safe to give her her morning dose at 5:30 am as scheduled?
My 6yr dog was healthy until 10/19 then he had three fits in 24hrs . had blood test all clear a MRI showed epilepsy + cm/sm put him on epiphen 2mths without fit then started having them about once a week so added potassium bromide. Then 1 night he was crying and yelping in pain. Took to the vets, checked him not a yelp out of him , added gabapentin .. But only went 3wks without fit &then another 5dys later. They now want to add Keppra all he does is sleep now
What is the maximum dose of Potassium Bromide for a dog weighing 2.55kg? My 14 month Papillon started having seizures when she was 7 months old. She was on Epiphen and Keppra. We have now discovered she has a liver shunt so she has been weaned off the Epiphen. And is now on Potassium Bromide and Keppra. We are gradually weaning her off the Keppra. She has always had cluster seizures but now they are getting worse. She is on 1/4 Keppra x2 and 0.15 x 2 of potassium bromide.
My 14 year old dog is constanly having short violent seizures where he is either walking or sitting and suddenly it is like an electric current is running through him. He is on 100x2 daily of pexion. He never loses consciousness and then just keeps on walking. They happen every 20-30 minutes. The vet said he had epilepsy but not the true form. He is still eating and drinking and still likes to play but they are becoming worse and are starting to knock him over and his gait is not quite right.
Pet ingested 250 mg Keppra pill. Labrador 35-40lbs, it was not his medication.
Hi have a 2 year old lurcher bitch who has epilepsy. She is currently taking pexion and phenoleptil. She has had a brain scan and her her brain was fine also her spinal fluids were fume. She has been having seizures since approx 11 months. Will using a flashing collar on her or my other three dogs cause her to have a seizure?
