why are coins toxic for dogs? i live in europe, is the euro also very toxic? thanks!

i was reading an article about dangerous items to dogs and one of the things mentioned were coins. why are coins dangerous? the article only mentioned US coins, are euros toxic too?

How is this breed i want to know . Kennel shop owner said its rottweiler original breed.i bought it for 20000 is the money worth for this breed

Hi, I'm not sure but my cat maybe swallowed a coin. This happened about 4 hours ago and he still acts normal, no symptoms of metal poisoning. I looked up the coin to see what's been made of. It's a 10 cent euro coin. It says 4.10 gram in total weight which contains 89% of copper, 5% zinc, 5 aluminum and 1%tin. In just wandering if this would cause metal poisoning for my cat? He is about 5 kg so by the size I think he would be able to pass it if he did swallow only I'm worried about the toxicity.

Omg! My dog was chewing something he found on the floor and I opened his mouth didn't see anything. Few minutes later I see a dime on the floor! I instantly went into panic he could have ate a coin! If he did I feel like he wouldn't "chew" it. I honestly do not want to pay for an X-ray just bc I'm paranoid. I tend to do this about every little thing with my dog. Will he be ok? Can he pass it out?

Hi , I have a 3 cats and I'm afraid that maybe one of them ate something that he shouldn't have. I left some coins on my table n of course they started to play with it. I found almost all the coins expect a 50 cent (euro) . Looked thru carpets etc.. just disappeared. I'm wandering if a cat can actually swallow such a thing n if he can ,what are the symtoms that I should watch out for in case it turns into an emergency? Few hours went by n they all act normal(eatin etc)

We don't have much money to buy expensive dog food, plus we're taking care of three dogs. I'm trying to find a better food for my dogs. Can you recommend the best one for pet owners on a tight budget. Also Koko sheds a lot, like a lot. Is their any way we can help with that. And my last question is koko has been bitten by ticks and they left big red marks, my mom went on vacation and wont be back till 3 weeks so we cant go to the vet yet. Do you think the bites are serious. his always itching.

Is there anything cheaper than potassium bromide? My 15 month Papillon is on that and Keppra. Non of which seems to be working as she has cluster seizures every day. Keppra 125 mg x2 and 0.4ml bromide. The bromide costs £131 for four weeks! The bottle holds 250 ml so most of it has to be thrown away. She was on epiphen but has had to come off it because of her liver.
