My rabbit has an open wound that pierced his right nutsack and extends to his tail. I imagine that this was received when tussling with our other rabbits. I've cleaned the area, sprayed with hydrogen peroxide, and whenever the bleeding stops I'll add antibiotic ointment, but is there anything more I can do without taking him to the vet? (We don't have the money)
I was wandering how vets react to putting an animal to sleep, do you cry or do you become desensitised to it over time? I imagine that must be the hardest part of the job
Harvey's nails haven't been clipped in a long time, and I didn't know until recently the importance of regular clipping. Now I'm afraid to have them clipped because I recently learned that the quick grows out along with the nails, and I can't imagine the pain he would experience if a non-medical groomer tried. What can a vet do to help? Is there a procedure that can fix this?
Hello, I have a Roborovski dwarf hamster, about 3 weeks ago I saw this big lump in my stomach’s hamster. I really don’t know what I can do? Or what that is? Could it be a tumor? And is there a possibility to remove it and how much would it be. He also has a wound that I imagine he made it to himself because that big lump must hurt. Please help me. Thank you.
My 14 year old black lab has had very mushy yellow stool the last 5 days. I have him on Flagyl 2x/day per my vets instructions. He is also on the max dose of Anipryl, 60mg a day, for his cognitive dysfunction. Could this be causing his diarrhea ? Should I cut back on the Anipryl. It is very difficult to get ahold of my vet these days, as you can imagine. Thank you.
I have a tea cup chihuahua whos maybe 7 years old and recently when I touch his lower back he starts twitching it and I noticed his legs sometimes shake and he breathes much louder and faster, I imagine this is what a dog havinf a panic attack would look like. He started isolating himself in my closet and gets aggressive when we try to take him out, he doesn’t eat anywhere near as much as he use to.
I have a neutered approx. year old B/W cat named Bandit. It appears that, almost overnight, his right eye is missing all the hair surrounding it and the eyelid, and has puffed out and looks scabby. No discharge or damage to his eye as of yet. He's a strictly indoor cat with no history of allergies etc. What could this be? Can I do anything to give him relief while I try to get him to his vet? I imagine it must suck for him!
My older dog has this growth thing above her left eye. It's huge and scary but we've been told if we did anything with it (like remove it), it would just grow right back. It is affecting how she see's I imagine. It is breaking my heart but we don't have a vet close by. It would mean a day off work and hundreds of $$. It is like that whenever we walk into the vet. (which is a lot, we have 4 rescues) Thank you for your help!
I just adopted an adult rescue dog, about 2 years old. She came on a transport from Texas. I was told she was shy. She is very fearful and doesn’t want to leave a corner of the kitchen. Is afraid to be outdoors. I ether understand the need for a rescue to have time to decompress. One concern I have is the she has only peed once since I got her 3 days ago. I can’t imagine this is healthy for her. She is eating and drinking.. I need some help.
My husky got cut on the inner leg by a piece of tin . It’s pretty deep, but everyone says she’ll be fine and the vet isn’t open. She now has diarrhea and doesn’t really wanna get up or eat much. I can imagine she’s in pain , but I don’t know what to do to help her ? Will she be okay ?
Kitten has this on its genitals...the kittens about 3 weeks old and she was the only survivor from her litter...other than that she seems healthy....and the problem isn't anywhere else on its body...but it meows when it's mother is licking the area in order for it to urinate so I imagine it might be causing discomfort..what should I do next...will there be over the counter medicine available or will it need to go to the vets urgently as they're quite expensive and money is low at the moment.
Should my cat see a vet? We found water on the floor two days ago that we imagine might be puke, and found that she pooped under my desk yesterday and there was a small wet spot under the otherwise normal feces. She is peeing in her box as normal but inconsistently will poop in the litter box or otherwise right outside of it. Yesterday is the first time she ever pooped under my desk, in a completely different room than her box. She still is eating and acting normally. Is this an emergency?
