Hello, and thank you for your question. These dried yak's milk treats are typically very hard, and can definitely damage her teeth over time. What happens is the chewing causes tiny microfractures in the teeth which can eventually result in a big slab fracture of the chewing teeth, requiring emergency dental surgery. I'd also be worried about the sharp shards, as I am not aware of any studies demonstrating the fragments dissolve in the stomach before passing through into the intestines. When you are looking for a chewing treat, try the "fingernail test" - if you can't make an indent in the treat with your fingernail, then it is too hard for your dog's teeth. I'd also suggest checking this website for veterinary-approved, safe dental treats for your dog: www.vohc.org. I hope this helps, and that Emmy stays happy and healthy!

My own personal preference, unrelated to Petco or PetCoach, is the CET line of enzymatic chews by Virbac ( https://us.virbac.com/home/our-products/pagecontent/product-selector/cetenzymatic-oral-hygiene-chews.html ). Any chew you decide on should, ideally, have the Veterinary Oral Health Council seal of approval. http://www.vohc.org/VOHCAcceptedProductsTable_Dogs.pdf

Hello! I personally love the Greenies brand dental chews for my dogs! You can also smear some dog toothpaste on their other toys, like a nylabone for example, to make a fun teeth brushing treat for him. :) I hope this is helpful! Thanks for using Boop by Petco!

Hi there. I do like the Himalayan Yak Chews for large-breed dogs - just make sure to get the largest size they have. Large bully sticks and all natural rawhide chews (I like the ones made by Raw Feeding Miami) are also good options.

Yes absolutely! I highly recommend the Virbac dental chews that are almost half the price as the Oravet, and they really do work! I use these on my own pets. Also remember though that it is still best to brush your pets teeth as this is considerd to be superior to any dental chew or treat you can buy. :Twice a week brushing is better than nothing! : ) Check out the link below and best wishes with your pet Bella! https://www.amazon.com/Enzymatic-Hygiene-Chews-Medium-Virbac/dp/B01AS4X4IC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1528125380&sr=8-6&keywords=virbac+dental+chews+for+dogs Please let me know if this was helpful! Take care. : )
